Prototype 1990 Jaguar XJ220

1990 Jaguar Xj220 Front Corner

We know it isn’t a barn find, but this Jaguar XJ220 is a very rare and special find. There were only 280 production XJ220s built, but this one is even rarer then those. This car is #2 of the prototype cars built and has quite the provenence. The car has been modified to meet the UK’s MOT and registration requirements, so it is road legal. The car is currently in London and is being offered here on eBay with a BIN of $800,000.

The prototype cars were a bit smaller, lighter, and better looking then the production cars. This particular prototype is the only remaining one with this body style and the Heidigger tuned 3.5 liter V6 engine. This car has been used in a lot of media events. It was even shown to Princess Diana and run at the Nurburgring. The car has been well documented throughout its entire existence and the seller has a 50 page ebook that covers the car’s history.

This car is a very important part of Jaguar history and we are glad to see it’s still on the road. We aren’t sure whether this car is street legal in the States, but we would love to tear around the streets with this supercar. Sadly $800,000 is a little out of our price range, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream…

smaller, lighter, better looking… sounds more like a Sports Car than an over-optioned cruiser – which it became
