READER AD: 1928 Ford Model A With 68k Miles!

Between the popularity of hot and rat rods and the consent march of time, survival rate of all original Ford Model A’s is fairly low. While this particular Tudor would look great with period modifications or as a modern hot rod, it’s originality and beautiful condition demand that it be preserved. Reader Jordan D believes that the 68k miles are original and accurate. Clearly, this 90-year old classic has clearly been well maintained and cared for throughout its life. Hopefully, the next owner preserves it and keeps it on the road! If that person is you, be sure to take a closer look at it via the link below.

What Makes It Special? This first year Model A is in great shape and runs well! It’s showing what I believe to be 68,000 original miles. Always been stored inside and has been well cared for. The engine starts right up and it drives great!

Body Condition: The body is all steel and in great shape.

Mechanical Condition: Has no mechanical issues and starts easily every time.

Our son’s grade school secretary’s husband (whew) had a maroon and black model A and he would bring it for the “Spring Fair” every year. He would give people a ride around the block and when he tired, I would take over. That was a fun car to drive, but the water pump would give him fits. He learned to repair it rather quickly. It had a rumble seat and of course, all the kids wanted to sit there.

These are amazing fun on side streets. Not so much on the freeway but everybody seems to see you and seems to take care not to give you a hard time. I have helped restore a number of Model “A” Fords of various types and they are getting so rare that keeping it as it is would be my choice.

These are really lovely cars to drive if you keep within the limits of the design, IE below 50MPH and really below 45. They require constant upkeep of the brakes but the rest of the car is stump stupid and easy to repair when necessary and it is seldom necessary. Thank you for the post brings back many memories.

This looks to be a very nice example. Every last Thursday of the month at meet and chat at the local Dairy Queen in 7 points, Texas several model A’s show up. A friend of mine who drives a concrete mixer owns a model A soft top pickup. These little vehicles are a blast but tall people are a little cramped in them. I learned that the gas tanks are a major job to take out if they need service. Love model A’s

Someone put a lot of time, money and effort into this restoration back when Model As were popular. It’s not very original but it has some nice touches that would make it a great driver.

I love these cars. This one is super nice from I can see. It would be fun to putt around in my neighborhood in this car, but I’m out of room in my garage.

Wish I had room, I would buy this car, if I got it for the right price.

I noticed the interior and exterior were a bit lack luster.
Looks like a fun Sunday drive late summer afternoons.

Cowl lights and a fender spare would be nice additions.
