It isn’t a terribly low mileage car, with 101k miles on the clock, but it’s clearly been well cared for and is in really great shape. Since it’s powered by a 350 LT1 V8, it should have lots of life left in it. And with 275 horsepower, it should be fairly lively. With just a little over 8k of these built, there really can’t be too many left in this condition. We won’t be surprised if these are quite desirable with collectors in the near future. The only thing we can ding this one for is having an automatic, but once the top is down, we could live with it!

No comment on the car other than it looks like a clean example. I can comment on the dealership though. I started at 16 with the Schimmer organization as a porter after school and worked my way up to Sales Manager. After fairly long tenure I wound up leaving for a position with an ad agency.
Looking at the AutoCheck report it looks like the car has been in Mendota for many years. At 24 years old the mileage isn’t bad and it probably hasn’t seen much, if any winter. Hope it finds a new home soon.
You won’t find a more down-to-earth and honest group of people than the Schimmers and the people of Mendota. Although I live in AZ now, Mendota is my hometown. You can buy with confidence from this dealer if this car is for you.
Boy, that’s the kind of reader-supplied commentary we can use! I will, once in a while, put forth a personal recommendation for folks that I truly believe in. It is rare, and few people do it these days, but nothing is better in this world than having someone stand up for someone else as a character reference. Double points for pretty much making a recommendation for the whole town!

I bought a brand new ‘95 Camaro V6 so I know these cars very well. At the time, Z28s were a notch below the SS in Camaro brand hierarchy so they were advertised as having only 285HP while the SS was advertised as having 305HP because of the quote/unquote “ram air” hood scoop.
The only thing is, however, while beautiful and impressive, that SS hood scoop really didn’t supply ANY additional power because of the convoluted path the actual intake directed the air. In other words, even though Chevrolet made the SS buyer think they were getting forced induction, they really weren’t.
Bottom line: the LT1 Z28s of this generation dyno with the same 305HP and same torque as the SS. When the LS1 was introduced in 1998, Chevy continued the same misleading practice by claiming 305HP for Z28s and 320 for the SS. Knowing that the Z-cars were just as strong as the SS, I sold my 200HP V6 Camaro and purchased a new ‘98 black Z28 with M6 transmission and T-tops. Man that was a fun car and I have a feeling that this ‘95 Z28 convertible will be a blast to drive as well.
I guess my 1997 Z/28 Convert with 104,000 miles isn’t too bad for $6900, but Barn Finds wouldn’t list it a couple years ago.
