Ready for Rebuild: 1959 Chevy Corvette

This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette features red paint with white coves and is a stalled restoration project that the seller admits won’t get finished on his watch. With the listing claiming all removed parts and some additional components are included with the sale, it could an affordable way to own an early Corvette. Find it here on eBay with bidding over $15,000 and no reserve.

The seller claims the fiberglass remains in good condition and that some prep for paintwork has already started. The paint that’s visible is a classic Corvette combination, and I hope the next owner preserves it. The seller notes the engine has been refreshed and is included with the sale, along with a variety of spare heads. An original replacement hood has been installed.

The listing says this Corvette is exiting family ownership, but doesn’t note how long it’s been under the current owner’s care. Note the undersides of this Corvette – it’s impressively clean, making this restoration candidate even more appealing. The original bumpers and front grill are included with the sale, but will need some polishing work to rejuvenate their luster.

The interior is typically a straight-forward restoration effort, but you’ll be starting from scratch with this one. Fortunately, a new seat cushion, carpeting, and vinyl material (presumably for the seat frames) are all included. It looks like an original or at least period-correct steering wheel remains in the dash. Not a cheap undertaking, but still looks incredibly worthwhile.

Good project for someone if it doesn’t go to the heavens in bidding. Beware zero feedback, but you would go look at it anyway. Hope it goes to someone who always wanted one but couldn’t afford. Good luck to the new owner!!

Nice car for someone that is in no hurry and does most of the work themselves and if price doesn’t go crazy. Working on a new project after just completed one and was informed that my wife not being a car person says it would cost much more then the price of the car if I bought it!
