Roadside Rolls Royce Sighting

Roadside Rolls

Whenever you see an old car parked along the street with a “For Sale” sign in the window, you should stop! Josh and I spotted this Rolls Royce the other day while driving back to the office and just had to take a look. We aren’t in the market for a Rolls, but it’s a car you don’t see everyday around here so stopped to snap a few photos. It did look exceptionally clean for its age and the asking price seems about right if all the maintenance records can be provided. I thought someone here might be interested and if not, at least it’s a good opportunity to remind everyone to keep sending in their roadside sightings. Sometimes the best deals can found right along the route to work! So, keep your eyes peeled and please keep them coming!

Oh eww, a Silver Spur! When they first came out I took my friend to a dealership one night. It was closed and what you could see of it was pretty much what you see in your rear shot. I had difficulties convincing him that it was, in fact, a Rolls. He said it looked like a Camry with a gland condition.

I’ll go on record and state the obvious, there are much more beautiful and elegant ways to throw money into a RR money pit than this… >_<

I’m sure Jim. It was fun to look at, but the decision to move on was not a hard one…

This sure is a local, roadside ad. (now being posted internationally) Note there is no area code for the phone number. Being that we don’t know where this car is, (assuming it’s in the lower 48) we only have a few hundred telephone area codes to choose from…

I doubt anyone will get too excited about this one because it’s priced right at or above market value. If anyone is seriously interested though, they can just ask for the area code and I’ll post it. Thanks for catching that though streamliner!

TWENTY FOUR GRAND?? To those in the “know” they can buy at least four, five, maybe even six for $24,000 – and that’s just the beginning of the money drain. I’d rather play video poker – the odds are much more in your favor!

I saw a similar RR with a “4 Sale” sign driving south on 101 near San Mateo, CA this afternoon. I couldn’t get near enough to see the asking price. It was dark green. Might be this one, not sure: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/5106965435.html

I owned a pristine ’79 Silver Shadow for 7 years. Previous original was very meticulous with maintaining the car. Besides regular maintenance I never had one problem.
