This old Cadillac is listed on eBay in Scottsdale, Arizona with a BIN of $8,000 and with bids starting at $5,000. It’s mostly complete, original, runs and drives. Hopefully it runs well enough to be a driver and that that’s only surface rust we see. There’s no history provided.
This is an imposing front end. There is a lot less chrome than later models so perhaps re-chroming would be feasible.
The dash looks complete and unmolested. Whatever is under the tape on the steering wheel in likely in poor condition. The rest of the interior is likely a mess and perhaps that’s why there are no pictures.
Except for the wiring it looks tidy and complete under the hood. If everything works, perhaps a little soldering and bundling would sort things out but a complete rewire might be a good idea.
There’s a rusty bumper on this end too, but it looks like the parts are all there, even the tail light lenses and reflectors. Finding those bits would be difficult and expensive.
There are no pictures of the interior, but do you think they really used this for limo service? Would you let your kids ride off in this? I’m thinking the buyer won’t be using this as a limo any time soon. It could be a driver with some work. Restored, this Cadillac could be worth $35,000 or more. Is it even worth the $5,000 opening bid though? Could it be worth it to do the interior, paint, body work and chrome? If you’re really into patina, perhaps this could be a cool driver and just do the interior. What would you do with this old Cadillac?
In my humble opinion, and many others, the most attractive Cadillac ever made. Also with its unequaled powerful and smooth flathead V8. I had one as my first car. It was easily a number two in condition. I drove it for ten years. Good thing gas was $.27.9 a gallon then!

I would not restore, just fix up. Get running and driving then have bumpers and any bad chrome powder coated in “chrome” uff what you can and then get the paint mix to match the buffed paint as close as possible and fix the rust and paint these areas. Would not break the bank and you would have a nice driver.

I’ve got a 47 series 62 that is kinda like this car .When WW ll started Cadillac pretty much all but stoped making cars and made tanks for the war so when the war ended they used the tooling from this design for a few years, only changing a few mostly cosmetic things .Mine unfortunately does not run at the moment but is in pretty good shape. Im also told that the Moonshiners loved these flathead motors and that they would swap out the ford flatheads for these into their fords .Has anyone else heard this?
My dad was a Chrysler guy generally hated Fords but used to say when he and my mom were living in South eastern Idaho you had to be careful road racing some of the Fords because guys had installed Cadillac engines.
One of the prettiest cars ever made imho. Must have been sitting out in the desert sun for a long time. I would guess the interior is baked. I’m always amazed that sellers think a few pictures and a cursory description will sell anything.
Car has a lot of similar lines and shape of a 41 or 42 Lincoln Continental.
