Seriously Valuable Mopar “Fast Facts” Book

This “Fast Facts” book looks interesting, but it’s the auction’s bidding action that really caught my attention. It currently has 46 bids and is sitting at an astonishing $560! That’s a lot of money for a three ring binder and a few pieces of paper. Take a look here on eBay where the auction ends later tonight!

Apparently, this cool reference manual was given to Chrysler and Dodge salesmen so they could quickly lookup the details of each model. The seller claims that this one is a rare Canadian version and that it was never used.

I love automobilia just as much as the next guy, but the excitement around this book still baffles me. We are accustomed to Mopar muscle cars going for big bucks though. Perhaps this is just the Hemi ‘Cuda convertible of Mopar manuals?

Dealer stuff is neat, but it’s lot of money to sit on the bookshelf after you’ve looked at it once.

It would be a nice conversation piece but not at that kind of money. I would rather put it into my car.

I have considered throwing some money at automobilia in the past, but it always comes back to, “$500 on the shelf or $500 into the car?” The answer is easy.

Dealership material like this is very rare. It was thrown away when the new model year came out and almost everyone never had the hindsight to save it. I have threw serious money at some AMC dealer items years ago and it was well spent. A complete set of Data books, 1968-1979. The Holy Grail is the American Motors Performance Activities book. Trying to start a muscle car collection of dealer literature now better tap into your 401K. An easier way is to collect new model items of your driver or of cars you can’t afford for another ten years or so. Media only material given to members of the press during a major auto show is very exclusive and also very affordable now. The manufactures come out with unique items along with press release material are very collectible.

Try buying “The Book of Norman” on Sunbeam Tigers….typically over a grand.
