And here is why knowing that it’s a 300 Deluxe is significant. The 350 cubic inch V8 was not offered in the 300 Deluxe but this car has one. Originally, this car would have had either a 307 or a 327 V8. Without knowing what this engine came out of, it’s hard to say how much power it might be producing. Speaking of power, it’s being sent to the wheels via a rebuilt Powerglide automatic transmission. This car is equipped with power steering from the factory. Upfront the brakes have been switched to power discs. While it does run and drive, the car has been in storage for a while and will need to be looked over before constant road use. The original engine and parts can be included if the buyer would like them.

Ivy Gold is claimed to be the color of the interior. That actually is quite fitting based on the green hue that it gives off. It is in fantastic condition and reflects back on a time when automakers would put colors like this inside a vehicle. Times certainly have changed. Tastes have probably changed more so. Some aftermarket gauges have been installed that have not compromised the dashboard in any way.

While there is some rust on many places on the car, including the column shifter, nothing seems to be compromising the integrity of the car. According to the seller, the trunk and floors are solid, and there is a photo of the trunk proving so. This car seems to be what the pictures and description advertise it to be. It will be interesting to see what the price will finally end up at. This could be one amazing deal for quite an amazing vehicle.

This body style (’68-’69) has got to be the most coveted of all the Chevelle models. Personally, I would prefer the ’69. In fact, if this was a ’69, and for this price, I’d be in on the bidding war. Of course, I would prefer a 6 cyl. but that’s just me…

This is a six cylinder built car; no V8 callouts on the front fenders, and the VIN confirms it is a six. He has original engine.
Sell the V8, and, depending on the size of the new rotors, you could possibly run a newer GM steel wheel, painted body color and with the hubcaps.

You know, I kind of thought that myself. I had a ’69 Chevelle 300 with a six and 3 spd. manual–selling it is one of my biggest regrets before my first marriage. That really renews my interest in this car although if I spring for this one, a ’69 is surely to show up, and probably as close as Great Falls. PA is a fair hike for me besides that. Now, my wife is in Billings all this next week so I’ve got some time to do something devious. Maybe I’d better talk to her; I’m not all that wild about changing my zip code…

Once again, I’m reminded of the old addage: “You snooze; you lose.” Maybe that ’69 model will show up right under my nose. Maybe I’ll win the lottery…

That wheel on backwards is because they put disc brakes on the front, now original wheels wont’s fit anymore.

The front wheel gives this Chevelle a clunker appearance, outside of that it presents fairly well. That hopped up 350 makes a good choice for a fun cruiser, man, I remember lots of Chevelles setup similarly years ago. Not diggin the power glide all that much though. Everybody has their own likes/dislikes.

I worked for a pool water delivery company when I was in high school!! The owner of the company had a 68 same color with a 4 speed and a 327!! I did everything in my power to buy that car from him and he would never sell it to me!! He always let me drive it though!! It makes me realize what automotive hell must be like!!! Driving a car that you can never own!!!!

The only chevy that could be equipped with the 350 for 68 were both SS models. Specifically the camaro (first year 67) and the Nova. No 68 chevelle was so equipped, also the front marker light is a good indication.. A 64-69, 300 or 300 deluxe is my dream car in the tudor model. Love it!
