It’s amazing how some vehicles just need some very minor tweaking and they become a completely different vehicle. I’ve always felt the W124 class Mercedes-Benz sedans just need a slight suspension drop and some AMG monoblock wheels, and you can call it a day. The same goes for the 2WD, short-box Chevrolet C10 pickup, like this example that’s been lowered with Bell-Tech three-inch drop Spindles and riding on classic Rally wheels – this is literally all you need to do to own one of the best looking trucks to come out of the 1980s. This Chevy sports a nice coat of patina and mostly original paint. Find it here on eBay with bids to just under $10K and no reserve.
The seller notes the only non-original paint is located on the hood, the roof, and part of the driver’s door. The Chevy has been a southern truck since new, and came from the factory with a deep options list. The seller notes it’s surprising that it’s not technically a Silverado with all the options boxes that were checked, including power brakes, power steering, air conditioning, tinted glass, deluxe moldings package, and more. The engine is the venerable 5.0L V8 paired to an automatic transmission. While I like either transmission in this application, a truck with a stance like this would do well with a manual and straight-piped exhaust.
The interior definitely shows some wear and tear, with that rip in the upholstery front and center. Still, it’s an unrestored truck, and in that regard, it looks quite tidy. The interior color likely isn’t the first choice among C10 enthusiasts – I’d like to see black, myself – but this is the 80s, when everything was seemingly some shade of maroon in GM interiors. The interior sports some additional factory features, including cigarette lighter, dome light, and additional gauges for the volt meter, oil pressure, and temperature. The seller notes the truck was sold new in South Carolina and remained there until he brought it to Tennessee.
The two wheel drive, 5.0L option is a tasty combination, and you can just make out in this picture the nicely preserved chrome bumper and surprisingly well detailed engine compartment. With no other modifications besides the dropped suspension – not even an aftermarket exhaust – this C10 is the kind of driver anyone can get in and enjoy right away. Mileage is low, too, just under 90,000, adding to the appeal. The bidding already closing in on $10,000 with three days left, and I have little doubt this truck could easily reach $15,000, even with less than perfect paint and interior. Would you modify it further, or leave it as-is?

You are right, his vehicles have been featured in this site several times. Some people have a knack for finding good cars/trucks at reasonable prices. They put in the work others aren’t willing to. If they can make some money based on their effort, good for them.

I have always liked these trucks, even when they were new. If it goes for under 15 K it is a bargain. I have never been a fan of the side mirrors or rally wheels with white letters and other than that, a simple upholstery repair and I would leave it alone. You could always tweak the exhaust and have fun keeping it nice, I would love to own this truck.
For all those protesting the slamming of the 68 featured yesterday ,I present exhibit A as to what a little bit of lowering can do .This truck has “stance” dialed in to perfection.Nice little entry into the collector car hobby for someone.
So true. A simple 2×4 drop doesn’t change the springs, just cleans up the profile. It’s still capable of performing any task a typical home owner would ask of it.

Paint it. Touch up the paint underneith. Put a posi rear in it. Put the oil underneith after paint it and drive it. Beats the price of any new one.Plus its better built with thicker metal then the new ones. Fix the small things and you have a nicer truck. Then you,d have have that would be able to drive year round. Beats the price of a 4 wheel drive.Plus less expence for maintance of a 4 wheel drive.
