This 1964 Impala Wants Out!

front

I have a soft spot for the 1964 Chevy, it was my first drivers ed car. It was amazing, a 14 year old kid driving a brand new Chevy, even if it was an inline 6 with an automatic. A ’64 Impala happened to also be the first car I ever drove over 100 mph. After 30 years, is it time to revive this 1964 Impala? It is a 2 door hardtop and there’s no visible rust. It’s got a 283 and a manual transmission. Other than that, the owner has provided very little information. He’s asking $8,000 for it here on craigslist. If it’s complete and not too rusty, there are some real possibilities here, from survivor to, well, what some folks to do cars like this with bags and big wheels.

There are much cheaper ways to ruin an old car than by putting those ugly ass big wheels and bags on them!!

Charles, there may be cheaper ways to ruin an Impala, but its the best way to make it ugly as hell.

In reading the seller’s all-too-brief ad, I have a question: if he’s been the owner since ’67, is this really a “barn find” since its never really been lost?

I have always been partial to the ’64 Impala’s. It is a shame this guy did not take more pictures. This sounds like a great project car, but how can we tell?
