Three Row Wagon: 1994 Chevrolet Caprice

Despite the fact that they haven’t started commanding ridiculous dollars yet, the Chevrolet Caprice wagon (along with its Buick and Oldsmobile siblings) continues to make a regular appearance on eBay under the premise of it being an emerging collector vehicle. I can see this happening, but the softening classic car market likely means no-reserve listings like this 1994 Caprice here on eBay can still be acquired for very reasonable money.

What I can’t figure out is whether enthusiasts want these for future flipping purposes, or because they’re the kind of classic car you can live with every day while extracting an enormous amount of practicality out of. The seller notes this one lived in a gated community in the care of a retiree, and that the body remains clean with minimal blemishes.

The interior has not been detailed at all, so buyers are getting an honest view of how well the cabin’s been maintained. It looks clean, and if my eyes don’t deceive me, that’s a cloth interior that has survived remarkably well. The carpets don’t appear to be hiding any ugly stains, but the steering wheel shows some wear. The A/C is said to function properly.

I never noticed this before but the third-row rear bench is a different material than the rest of the interior, featuring vinyl seating surfaces. Regardless, it looks like it was hardly ever used except for an occasional visit by the grandkids. The seller is correct that their example is selling for far less than others on eBay, and frankly, looks just as nice.

You aren’t kidding when you say that the prices on these haven’t reached ridiculous proportions yet.
    21 bids and it’s reached a whopping $1,632.

The steering wheels seemed to wear prematurely on these & their counter-parts. I had a few of them in the past, both Chevy & Buick styles, and those steering wheels always seem worn & discolored to me. You could always tell where previous owners habitually held the wheel lol.
