Vitamin C Orange: 1970 Plymouth Road Runner

This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is a stalled restoration project that the seller claims is an original Vitamin C orange example with pleasingly solid undersides. The car is in a partially stripped state, with the shell of an interior and no engine installed. The car will come with many of the parts needed to finish the restoration, including a 383 engine that is in need of a rebuild. Find the Road Runner here on eBay with bidding at $7,200 and the reserve unmet.

The seller notes the car is missing its fender tag and build sheet, but is still confident the Vitamin C paint is original. Little information is offered as to what level of cosmetic restoration has been undertaken, but it seems someone has been working on prepping the body. The Road Runner will come with a complete set of Rallye wheels with brand new tires, but no word on door or window glass.

The interior is in rough shape, with the bucket seats in need of full restoration and a new carpet also required. The seller notes the Plymouth will come with a one-year only bench seat as well as an extra back seat. The dash is in rough shape, and the door panels aren’t perfect. Despite all this, the floors look pretty good and the seller reiterates that the car’s relatively rust-free condition is impressive.

From underneath, you can get a sense for how little corrosion there is. The sale will also include a 727 automatic transmission, a spare power bulge hood, shifter and linkage for the floor shifter, and most of the interior pieces. One of the more intimidating parts of a restoration is stripping it down and realizing you don’t want to continue, so good luck to the next owner at picking up the pieces.

Trust me and believe me this is orange 🍊 and all original but the tag could be on another car somewhere… where have i heard that one before 😜

Good luck new owner and if you plan on reselling just think how this listing is going with the vin storytelling.

Now if ine is going for daily racer and hot rod mod this is your baby 👍👀
This is why ONE NEVER EVER EVER REMOVES THE TAGS 🥵

Is that a big hole in the floor on the driver’s side? If so how are the floors pretty good…that whole interior is a mess.
Would’ve been a sharp car in its day and I’m sure someone will return it to its former glory, I’m also sure plenty of negative comments are on the way.

It’s worth restoring, but it’s not going to be cheap or easy. Obviously the vin looks wrong so it’s dependent on everything being legit with it.

Looks like another parts car that was put together to look like a complete car. Hint: hood color does not match the fenders, nor does the outside mirrors.

Nice catch,Terry. Looks like the car was out in the weather for a few years, but, that hood was indoors….

I’m not a MOPAR man (can’t afford it!), but compared to some of the other rust buckets I’ve seen for sale I think it looks pretty good! Just my opinion.

This is one of those cars if you’re not careful you’ll have twice in the car than it’s worth minus the matching number engine.

This guy watches too much Mark Worman. Total POS. Why remove fender tag? These cars were rotted out 40 years ago. No thanks.

Vitamin C Orange was the name of the paint from the factory , like Moulin Rouge , Sublime , Tor Red ,etc. .Mopar came up with some funky names for their colors !

Duke, “Go Mango” was dodge’s name for the orange (i have one in a 70′ Dart) and I believe Vitamin C was for Plymouth. They sold many because of the crazy names and colors.
