Warehouse Luxury: 1941 Cadillac Series 62

1941 Cadillac Series 62

What a majestic and grand car! Few cars are as impressive as these old Cadillacs, they make modern SUVs look small. This Series 62 sedan has been parked in it’s owner’s warehouse in Birmingham, Alabama for the better part of 40 years. It’s obviously going to need extensive work, but it looks complete and solid! Find this Caddy here on eBay with bidding just over $3,600.

1941 Cadillac Series 62 Interior

Luxury in the 1940s and luxury today aren’t quite the same. This car isn’t adorned in leather and suede, instead it features real wood and enough interior room to keep the wealthiest of owners happy. The seats might be cloth, but look at that cool pattern! Oh and be sure to have a look at all of the seller’s detailed interior photos, it’s great to see the craftsmanship that went into these cars up close.

The seller admits the car has rust, dents and dings, remember this car is 75 years old though. It has it’s issues, but I think it’s more than worth saving! So what do you think? Would you enjoy working on this big old Caddy?

    I like this car but.
    I want to drive it.
    Improve the original engine.
    Front disk brakes.
    Power steering.
    And AC.
I wouldn’t mind going to a specialist to have the seats covered in leather. Dont change the style or trim. I’m thinking jaguar MK10 style leather.

Replacing that upholstery would be a crime. There’s a certain outdoorsy quality to it that complements the Caddy’s luxury reputation perfectly, as if it could take you up Madison Avenue for drinks tonight… and then out to the Hamptons to ride horses for the weekend.

Clean off the dust, get it running, and – oh my gosh – drive immediately.

Scotch plaid was very popular in this era. A redo in such a fabric would be appropriate. Nice car.

Since a re-do has already been suggested, (and pardon me, I don’t capslock very often) “PRESERVATION CLASS”. Thank you for your kind indulgence.

Anyone else notice how CADILLAC is spelled on the hood of this car? It’s looks like it’s spelled “CADALLI”…………is this just someones bad attempt to spell or is this done on purpose?

About 30 years ago I helped a good friend restore his ’41 Model 75 Fleetwood. It started out like this BF. When the paint disappears and things get looking rough on a car like this, the only way to fix it is to tear it down and restore it. You don’t have to make it into a trailer queen, just a good driver…

That’s not real wood inside. I have a 47 Pontiac torpedo which is basically the same car and all the dash and window garnishes are the same. It is a painted on deal that looks like wood. wish my trim still looked as good as this caddy’s. Curious how Cadillac is spelled wrong on the hood too.
