Wrecked 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Project

This Marina blue 1966 Corvette took a heavy hit to the front end but is said to have no frame damage. With 52 bids and 3 days remaining, the bidding has already reached $28,000. More pics can be seen here on eBay. The car is located in Jackson, New Jersey.

The seller states that the Vette was running five years ago but was involved in a front end accident which caused fiberglass and front end damage but no damage to the frame. The car is equipped with a numbers matching Chevrolet 327 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission. In 1966, there were two big-block options and two small-block options. This car has the base 300 gross horsepower motor and power glide transmission.

The bright blue interior is rough and will need restoration also. Demand increased in 1966 with 27,200 Corvettes produced which was 4,200 more than the prior year. Production numbers by engine combinations are as follows: 9,755 Corvettes with the 327-300 hp engine, 7,591 Corvettes with the 327-350 hp engine, 5,116 Corvettes with the 427-390 hp engine, and 5,258 Corvettes with the 427-425 hp engine. The seller states that the car has several options but the pictures are fairly limited of the interior. It does look like it has power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning.

The car looks much better from this angle and appears to be pretty solid from the doors back to the rear bumper. While this is not a 427 V8, it is a beautiful color and looks like it would not take too much work to get back on the road.

Ended because someone probably had a cherry nose and at the price, (not the 28 K) was considered a bargain. A very desirable year, colors, options, ETC.

Tempting, but not for that price. Lots of hanging wires .

I work on these cars. I am fairly certain there is some frame damage. NOS black glass very hard to find. Only one piece front ends available now. But again, C2 prices are just stupid these days. Automatic kills it for me. Two speed. Reliable, but boring.
