    Driving Project: 1963 Pontiac Catalina

Hypothetically, you have this gap in your garage, and you’re trying to decide what should occupy that space. A pristine classic might seem a likely candidate, as would a survivor-grade vehicle. You could jump in boots and all with a full-blown restoration, but I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Mitchell G. for spotting an excellent alternative. This 1963 Pontiac Catalina looks rough around the edges, but don’t let its appearance deceive you. It is actually a rock-solid vehicle that runs and drives well. All it needs is someone willing to take matters in hand and perform the cosmetic refresh it richly deserves. The seller has listed the Pontiac here on Craigslist in Pasadena, Maryland. If affordability is another consideration, the seller’s price of $6,300 could make this Catalina irresistible. (more…)

Price Slashed: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

UPDATE 09/08/2025: Barn Finds readers are an eagle-eyed bunch of individuals who consistently spot some great classics for us to feature. Therefore, I have to say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for bringing this 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A to our attention back in July, and for discovering that the seller has relisted it with a substantial price drop. The remaining details are unchanged, but rather than paying the original $109,000, someone could become the Challenger’s new owner for $98,500. The seller has listed this beautiful Dodge here on Craigslist in Oregon City, Oregon.

07/29/2025: While some people believe that in motorsport, market relevance is no longer critical, others long for the days when they could walk into a showroom on a Monday and hand over the cash for a production example of the machine they had seen driven to victory the day before by their racing hero. It appears that those days are long behind us, which I consider sad. However, if you long for a classic from that era of intense manufacturer involvement, this 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A might be right up your street. It recently underwent a show-quality restoration, presenting in as-new condition. (more…)

Located in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, it comes with a clean title and a history of single-family ownership before being acquired by the current seller two years ago.

    BF Auction: 1953 Dodge V41

    Bid to: $1,800View Result

    • Seller: John M rozowski (Contact)
    • Location: East Haddam, Connecticut
    • Mileage: 30,000 Shown
    • Chassis #: T24510740 80054635
    • Title Status: Clean
    • Engine: 6-cylinder
    • Transmission: 4-Speed Manual

We all like to think that we’re free thinkers, but I’m definitely not alone in saying that I’m suggestible; I once bought a Corvair because my mom mentioned that she thought they were cute. Well, it didn’t hurt that I had been thinking about it for a few months before that, but sometimes we just need that bit of a nudge, and perhaps that nudge for you is a Barn Finds Auction. I for one have never owned a military vehicle, but every once in a while I’ll see one and be intrigued. What’s that all about? Who built it? Where do I get one? It’s a dangerous game, being a car lover. This is a 1953 Dodge V41, which is a variant of the M37 that was designed to be a “telephone maintenance vehicle,” according to truck-encyclopedia.com. The working 30-foot mechanical ladder verifies that assertion, so if you need a working collectible for trimming trees, painting your house, or any number of odd jobs, maybe this is the military vehicle for you. It’s located in East Haddam, Connecticut, and is open for bids now.

  • No Reserve: 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D California Edition

    No Reserve: 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D California Edition

The Mercedes 300D is a good reminder that mileage figures are relative. An unrepaired Jaguar XKE with over 100k on the clock is rare. A 300D that’s traveled the same distance is barely broken in, and other than routine maintenance, may not have ever seen the inside of a shop. Here on eBay is a 1985 Mercedes 300D turbodiesel, bid to $1725 in a no-reserve auction. This is a California car with extra emissions equipment; it is currently garaged in La Jolla. We’ll get the bad news out of the way up front: the seller has listed the car because its transmission will not shift past second gear, and he is not able to repair it. Other than this rather major demerit, the roster of work completed recently is reassuring! Let’s see if this is a good value at the current bid – or not.

  • All Original: 1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe

All Original: 1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe

The Coupe Utility was an Australian invention that changed the automotive world. It perfectly combined the comfort of a family Sedan with the versatility of a Pickup. It proved to be a global hit, with “Utes” plying roads across many countries. This 1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe is a perfect example of the breed, but what makes it stand out is the fact that it is a genuine survivor. It has no apparent needs, and preservation is a viable option for those unable to tackle a project. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting this fantastic Ford listed here on Craigslist in Tacoma, Washington. The seller set their price at $11,500 for this turnkey classic. • 5,298 Original Miles? 1981 Chevrolet Corvette

5,298 Original Miles? 1981 Chevrolet Corvette

Mileage claims, particularly those made in the absence of verifying evidence, pose a challenge for potential buyers. They leave those individuals with little choice but to examine the classic with a fine-toothed comb to determine whether the quoted figure is plausible. That appears to be the case with this 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. The seller states that the odometer shows 5,298 miles, suggesting that it hasn’t rolled over. Its presentation is impressive, and I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder PRA4SNW for spotting the Corvette listed here at Hemmings in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. The seller set their price at $20,000, and this Corvette has generated some interest since hitting the market. (more…)

  • Original Six-Window: 1963 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan

    Original Six-Window: 1963 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan

In the early 1960s, magazine road test after magazine road test came to the same conclusion: Even though the Cadillac was mass produced in great numbers, it would have been very difficult to find a car that was assembled and engineered more carefully anywhere in the world. It truly was a car for the home team to be proud of. It’s a fair argument that the 1963 model represents that zeitgeist well, and this example, sent to us by Barn Finds reader Barney, is a lovely original example of the “basic” Series 62 Sedan. Almost 13,000 six-window versions were built in 1963, and this one is being offered on craigslist in the San Francisco area with an asking price of $15,000 (or you can make an offer).

  • Nicest One Left? 1977 Plymouth Fury Suburban

Nicest One Left? 1977 Plymouth Fury Suburban

From 1959 to 1974, the Fury was marketed as Plymouth’s top (or near the top) full-size automobile. Even during the ill-fated downsizing period of 1962 to 1964. But in 1975, it was formally reassigned to mid-size duty (though the cars were still rather large). The seller offers a Fury station wagon from 1977, a Suburban. It’s a one-owner people mover that may be one of the nicest examples left. Hailing from La Porte City, Iowa, this 2-seat wagon is available here on craigslist for an even $10,000. An attaboy goes to Tony Primo for the Mopar tip! (more…)

  • 4k Mile Survivor: 1987 Ford Thunderbird 5.0

    4k Mile Survivor: 1987 Ford Thunderbird 5.0

To present an auto as among the nicest ones left of its kind can sometimes create unrealistic expectations, plus set a higher-than-normal level for potential scrutiny from prospective buyers.  Although I try not to overuse this description, it seems fair to say that this 1987 Ford Thunderbird here on Facebook Marketplace could be just that, taking into consideration both the condition and number of miles traveled.  The seller says it’s 100% pristine, and even after a close examination, I think he may be on the right track here.  This beautiful T-Bird is in Washington Township, New Jersey, with the seller’s belief that this one’s priced to sell at $19,950. • Muscle Car Project: 1969 Plymouth GTX

Muscle Car Project: 1969 Plymouth GTX

Introduced in 1967, the GTX was Plymouth’s upscale muscle car. It was joined the following year by the Road Runner, a budget-oriented model. Both were based on the mid-size Satellite/ Belvedere. The seller has a rusty and non-running GTX from 1969, but it has a 440 V8, which would have been standard fare during the car’s five-year run. In the same family for many moons, this needy project can be found in North Plains, Oregon, and is available here on craigslist for $14,995. Another tip scored for our readers by “Curvette.” (more…)

  • 2 for 1: Pair of 1961 Lincoln Continentals

2 for 1: Pair of 1961 Lincoln Continentals

Lincoln, like many of FOMOCO’s brands, came in behind GM/Cadillac in terms of sales. The Cadillacs had some of the industry’s wildest styling in the late 1950s, while the Lincolns were downright weird with their slanted front peepers (Chrysler did it better, IMO). The Continentals were all-new and toned down, resulting in improved sales starting in 1961. The seller has a pair of ‘61s that have been in the lockup for nearly four decades. Located in Rochester, Washington, this dynamic duo awaits a benefactor with deep pockets and $5,000 here on craigslist. (more…)

  • Mint Original Survivor: 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville 4-Door Hardtop

Mint Original Survivor: 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville 4-Door Hardtop

By the mid-1960’s, even Ford and Chevrolet were offering new luxury trim and models to rival their Lincoln and Cadillac cousins. And in 1971, Pontiac entered the king-size luxury car field in a big way with the introduction of the Grand Ville. It was positioned as “the first true luxury car at a sensible price” and was touted for its roominess, comfort, a long list of standard features, a 455-cubic-inch V8, and “the richness of Grand Ville interiors” (including Carpathian burl elm vinyl accents). It was, without a doubt, the most posh Poncho ever made. Here’s a beautiful survivor from 1973 that, except for a few paint chips, looks to be in like new condition. It’s located in Guttenberg, Iowa at Dave Brown Classic Rides and is listed for sale here on eBay for $17,500. Another shout out to Mitchell G. for sending this grand-looking Grand Ville our way!

  • Preserve or Restore? 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible

Preserve or Restore? 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible

Some classics leave buyers with choices to make. This 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible perfectly demonstrates this. It presents nicely and, with a healthy V8 under the hood, it will provide someone with immediate motoring pleasure. However, its straight panels and lack of significant rust could make it a candidate for some fresh paint that would make it really “pop.” I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting the Mustang listed here on Craigslist in Granite Falls, Washington. The seller set their price at $27,950 for this turnkey classic. (more…)

    454/4-Speed: 1973 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette doesn’t merely present well as an unrestored survivor, but it features the desirable and range-topping big-block V8. Its known history suggests that verifying the claimed odometer reading of 44,000 original miles may be possible. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting this stunning classic listed here on eBay in Annandale, Minnesota. The BIN on this beauty is $36,900 with the option to make an offer. Tweaked 400: 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix

We always appreciate the input from our readers at Barn Finds. The simple fact is that we, as writers, can’t always spot great classics to feature, and we can’t know everything about every car produced. Therefore, not only are you there to steer us straight when we make catastrophic errors, but you are also a wonderful resource, spotting great vehicles that are a privilege to write about. Therefore, I must say a big thank you to eagle-eyed Barn Finder T.J. for bringing this stunning 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix to our attention. The seller has been its custodian for forty-seven years, performing upgrades that will unlock improved performance. Having had their fun, the time has come for the Pontiac to find a new home. They have listed it here on Craigslist in Buffalo, New York. They set their price at $27,500 for a car that is guaranteed to turn heads. (more…)
