  • Triple White: 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV

Triple White: 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV

The year 1973 was a point of realization in the domestic automotive biz. Cars were becoming bigger and heavier, with a focus more on luxury, while power output was diminishing due to federally mandated emission control regs. No worries, just stuff an ever larger engine under the hood to keep that outsized rig a rollin’, right? Well, not so fast, as there’s more to the story than that. But for now, in late ’72 as the ’73 models, such as this Lincoln Continental Mark IV, were making their way to America’s showrooms, everything was hunky-dory. The seller refers to this outsized personal luxury coupe as a “clean, well-maintained classic.” Hmmm, let’s give it a review and decide. Bentonville, Arkansas, is where you’ll find it, and it’s available here on craigslist for $10,900. Barney gets a salute for this tip!

  • Minty W Body: 1993 Buick Regal Custom

Minty W Body: 1993 Buick Regal Custom

The concept of an ordinary car that remains in somewhat extraordinary condition is one that warms many of our hearts. How a vehicle that is usually thrown onto the scrap heap the second a minor mechanical malady rears its head instead is clearly loved and maintained for all of its life. The fourth generation of the Buick Regal was a fine car overall but very few have been treated with the kind of care that allows them to serve in the condition of this 1093 Regal listed here on craigslist. This example is for sale with a very cheap price of just $3,995 and a tick over 107,000 original miles. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Barney for the tip.

Custom Chameleon Paint: 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis

Even if it were bone-stock outside, this 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis would likely be a real head-turner, as it exemplifies everything a personal luxury coupe should be from this bygone era.  However, this one’s received a few custom touches that will make it stand out even more, including a custom paint job that the seller says cost $16,000 to apply.  That single investment is more than the car’s asking price of $15,500, so if you’ve been in the market for an eye-catching seventies land yacht, this one’s probably worth checking out.  Reader Jack M. found this unusual Mercury here on Craigslist in Malden, Massachusetts, and we’d like to thank him for sending us the tip here! • Joseph Abboud Edition: 2002 Buick Regal GS

Joseph Abboud Edition: 2002 Buick Regal GS

Buick called these Regals “the Car for the Supercharged Family,” and you’ll search a long time before finding a cleaner example than this 2002 Buick Regal GS Joseph Abboud Edition in Sonoma California. Not only does it have the supercharged V6 but the special Joseph Abboud leather interior and all the luxury features you’d expect in 2002. The claimed 81,000 miles sedan looks great inside and out, and comes with upgraded replacement parts. Check out more pictures and details here on Craigslist. Drive or Restore? 1973 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE

The Mercedes-Benz W108/W109 lineup represent an incredible value in the classic car community. Classy with gobs of power and understated luxury, these highway missiles are still potent road machines today. • Space Age Styling: 1960 Chevrolet Impala

Space Age Styling: 1960 Chevrolet Impala

I was 55 before I ever purchased a four-door car, and I also used to boast that I’d never buy another vehicle that didn’t have a stick shift of some sort.  However, times changed, and even after giving in to the norms the auto industry threw my way, I still generally prefer coupes.  Of course, there are always exceptions, and the sleek styling of the 1960 Chevrolet Impala hardtop is so cool that the extra doors don’t bother me at all.  This one’s also powered by a big block, further adding to its desirability.  If you’ve been searching for a nicely-preserved early Impala, this 1960 model is located in Ponca, Nebraska, and can be found here on Facebook Marketplace.  The seller is hoping for $21,000, but also mentions the possibility of a best offer.  T.J., thanks for another excellent tip here! • One-Owner Survivor: 1994 Camry LE Wagon

One-Owner Survivor: 1994 Camry LE Wagon

Once upon a time, station wagons were the most popular choice here in the USA for moving kids, dogs, camping equipment, groceries, furniture, band gear, and stuff needed for indoor and outdoor projects. And in their heyday, station wagons were offered in compact, mid-size, and full size versions. Even Japan’s popular-selling Toyota Camry and Honda Accord offered a 4-door station wagon option for about ten years here in the States before being dropped due to anemic sales (thanks to the more popular minivan and and crossover SUV). Here’s a clean survivor, a 1994 Toyota Camry LE Wagon, that looks very good for a 31-year-old station wagon. It’s in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, with a $7,200 price tag and is listed for sale here on Facebook Marketplace. Thanks to Jack M. for spotting this clean Camry Wagon and sending it our way! (more…)

  • Fully Loaded: 1983 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible

Fully Loaded: 1983 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible

One of the more entertaining aspects of being in the car hobby is seeing sudden surges of interest in a model that hasn’t seen much love over the years. The Chrysler LeBaron Convertible isn’t much of a collector’s item, a but a few years ago, we saw some combination of a YouTuber getting his hands on one and some truly world-class examples come up for sale that seemed to briefly make these ugly ducklings a bit of an item. You never want to get caught buying during one of these brief price surges, and it’s much smarter to buy a nicely preserved 1983 LeBaron like this one here on craigslist for just $5,988.

  • 1950 Plymouth Woody Wagon Survivor!

    1950 Plymouth Woody Wagon Survivor!

A woody wagon that’s never been restored is about as rare as a hen’s tooth these days. The very last true woodies were made by Buick in 1953, and even at that, the wood portions were much diminished compared to earlier versions – limited to accenting the windows, doors, and tailgate. So it’s a treat to see this 75-year-old survivor in such sterling condition – wood glowing, chrome bright, and yes, a bit of primer peeking through the paint here and there. Plymouth offered the Special Deluxe woody from the 1930s until 1950; this last-year example is advertised here on craigslist for $17,900. The new owner can very likely drive her home from the Kansas City, Missouri area – but watch those brakes, especially in winter. Thanks once again to T.J. for the great tip!

  • Highly Optioned: 1967 Ford Mustang GT

Highly Optioned: 1967 Ford Mustang GT

One of the most significant attractions of the First Generation Ford Mustang upon its release was Ford’s decision to offer buyers a wide range of factory options. It allowed people to prioritize their needs while keeping costs within their budgets. Such is the case with this 1967 Mustang. The first owner started the process by ticking the box next to the GT package on their Order Form, but went on to create what is now a pretty desirable classic. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting this wonderful survivor listed here on eBay in Clinton, Tennessee. The seller set their BIN at $45,000 with the option to make an offer. (more…)

  • Inspection Invited: 1965 Ford Galaxie 500

Inspection Invited: 1965 Ford Galaxie 500

Have you ever looked at a classic car and wondered whether it is as good “in the flesh” as it seems in the seller’s listing? That need not be a problem with this 1965 Ford Galaxie 500, because the seller actively encourages such inspections. I would be surprised if it unearthed any nasty surprises, because this Galaxie looks like a beauty. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting it listed here on eBay in Richton Park, Illinois. The BIN of $14,900 looks pretty affordable, but the seller’s willingness to negotiate may bring it down further. (more…)

  • Turbo Fox Project: 1986 Ford Mustang SVO

Turbo Fox Project: 1986 Ford Mustang SVO

Most of the Fox-era Mustang excitement stems from those with a V8 under the hood, but Ford offered a different sort of pony from 1984 through 1986 that was also a fine performer, featuring just half the number of cylinders, known as the SVO.  Special Vehicle Operations was a division created by Ford in the early eighties that focused on developing high-tech enhancements to make the Mustang competitive with European performance cars of the time, using a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine instead of a 5.0.  This 1986 Mustang SVO here on Craigslist needs some work, but with an asking price of $5,000, the seller believes you’ll have plenty left over to cover the repairs and enjoy a great driver.  This one’s located in Houston, Texas, and we’d like to thank reader Barney for finding it and sending in the tip! • Barely Broken In: 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TD

    Barely Broken In: 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TD

As car enthusiasts, we all have our preferences. While some lines can’t be crossed, there are certain vehicles that are so useful in that one thing they do better than any other model that exceptions can be made in terms of our brand loyalties. While I may be a fan of old and expensive German tin, I’ll always consider a clean Fox body as a worthy addition to my garage. In the same vein, I feel most of can appreciate how overbuilt the W123 lineup of Mercedes-Benz products are, even if you’d otherwise never consider owning a finicky European make. Check out this clean 1982 Mercedes 300TD wagon listed here on craigslist for a somewhat heady price of $30,000.
