  • 454 Squarebody: 1988 Chevrolet Suburban

    454 Squarebody: 1988 Chevrolet Suburban

The seventh generation Chevrolet Suburban is about as recognizable as the Statue of Liberty, and carries similar weight in terms of being a symbol of freedom. OK, perhaps that’s a stretch, but the Suburban is an escape machine for your next adventure, especially when powered by the burly 454 like this one is. The seller notes that it was brought up to Canada from Oregon not too long ago, which is an important selling feature given rust is one of the biggest enemies of these squarebody trucks. Apparently, this rig was previously used to haul a race car around. Find it here on craigslist for $16,000.

  • Affordable V8: 1996 Buick Roadmaster

    Affordable V8: 1996 Buick Roadmaster

Some enthusiasts find the prospect of buying their first classic daunting. That is understandable, because it represents a luxury purchase. Therefore, if the vehicle of their choice doesn’t meet expectations, they could find themselves out of pocket by a significant sum. However, cars like this 1996 Buick Roadmaster represent an affordable starting point. It has been part of the same family since Day One, with the ownership history a reassuring attribute. It presents well for its age, and the V8 under the hood will provide excellent performance. I want to extend a big thank you to Barn Finder Zen for spotting the Buick listed on Craigslist in Long Island, New York. The seller set their price at $5,900, making this Roadmaster undeniably affordable. (more…)

  • Rare Drop-Top: 1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible

Rare Drop-Top: 1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible

“Rare” is a relative term in the classic world, with some cars more deserving of that label than others. Take this 1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible as a prime example. The drop-top variant accounted for approximately 18% of total GS 400 production that year, and the Special Order paint on this Buick may make it a unique vehicle. The seller describes its presentation as “show standard” following a meticulous restoration, ready to provide a new owner with immediate motoring pleasure. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting the GS 400 listed here on eBay in Lakeland, Florida. The seller set their auction to open at $30,000, but has received no bids at the time of writing. (more…)

  • Not a Kit Car: 1988 Pontiac Mera

Not a Kit Car: 1988 Pontiac Mera

Kitting out the Fiero as a supercar – let us count the ways. There’s the Miura wannabe, F40s and F50s, a GT40, a replica Testarossa – the list goes on. But this one is not a kit car: it was factory-produced by a company called Corporate Concepts Limited, sold in Pontiac dealerships, and called the Mera. The Fiero lent itself well to conversions, since its body was easy to replace with creatively designed fiberglass. Bob Bracey of CCL saw the possibilities, and when the Fiero gained a worthy engine, he set about constructing as faithful a copy – though slightly more diminutive – of the 308 as was possible. It was such a close copy that Ferrari took one look and sued the company. CCL lost the suit, so only 247 units were produced. Here on eBay is a 1988 Mera with an asking price of $32,000, down slightly from its first-listed price of $33k. The car is located in Wilmington, North Carolina, and the buyer can drive it home!

  • Original 390: 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

    Original 390: 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

Although the Pontiac GTO is often considered the first muscle car, this 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL demonstrated that buyers could order cars with serious performance credentials two years before the first GTO graced showroom floors. That is courtesy of the first owner’s decision to order this Galaxie with a 390ci V8 under the hood. The Ford presents superbly, with no apparent weaknesses or problems. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder T.J. for spotting this beauty listed here on Craigslist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. You could drive it home for $24,995, and the indications are that this figure represents a recent substantial price drop. (more…)

79k Original Miles: 1980 Cadillac Eldorado

Almost since its inception, Cadillac has developed its reputation for prestige motoring. Many people aspired to own a Caddy, but prices typically proved beyond the financial means of mere mortals. However, the classic market now provides opportunities for enthusiasts to right that wrong with cars like this 1980 Cadillac Eldorado. Its presentation is first-rate, and with a genuine 79,000 miles on the clock, it should provide its new owner with years of reliable motoring. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder T.J. for spotting the Eldorado listed here on Craigslist in Twin Falls, Idaho. The seller has set their price at $10,000 and may consider interesting trades. • 19k Miles? 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza

19k Miles? 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza

Lost in the buzz surrounding Ford’s unbelievably popular Mustang was Chevrolet’s little Corvair, which sold surprisingly well in the face of the Blue Oval onslaught…for a year or so. When the Corvair was restyled as a 1965 model, magazines gushed over its Italianate styling and crisp handling, and over 235,000 were sold—not Mustang territory, but not bad. Sales plummeted in 1966, however, to 103,743, and it would get worse from there as the Camaro found its way into the lineup in 1967. Regardless, the Corvair is a popular and attainable collector car today, and this nice 1966 Monza with a reputed 19,000 miles seems like a nice buy. Barn Finds is lucky to have readers like Tony Primo, who spotted it on craigslist in Sacramento, California, with an asking price of $13,500.

    1 of 119: 1981 Audi 4000 5+5

It isn’t too often that we can highlight a vehicle that hasn’t been shown before on Barn Finds. Here’s a well-handling, two-door German car with a bigger engine than usual, and a 5-speed manual transmission. What’s not to like? Well, maybe the price, but other than that… This 1981 Audi 4000 5+5 can be found listed here on Facebook Marketplace in Hawthorne, California, and they’re asking $24,995. Here is the original listing, and thanks to Jack M. for the tip!

  • Unusual Survivor: 1960 Saab 93F With Vintage Subaru Power

Unusual Survivor: 1960 Saab 93F With Vintage Subaru Power

Every now and then, a project car pops up here on eBay that feels like a snapshot from another era—a machine with a long story behind it and a future that depends entirely on the next owner’s imagination. This 1960 Saab 93F, equipped with a 1970s or 1980s Subaru four-cylinder engine, definitely fits that description. It’s being offered by a private seller who originally picked it up as a parts donor for their own 93F project, but ultimately decided it deserved a chance to live on intact. For Saab fans, tinkerers, or anyone who loves a good vintage oddball, this one checks a lot of boxes.

  • Fully Restored: 1950 DeSoto Custom Coupe

Fully Restored: 1950 DeSoto Custom Coupe

I always find discontinued auto marques an interesting study. In my time on earth, I’ve counted fourteen U.S. brands that are no longer with us, compared to, by my count, only ten domestics that are still with us (eleven if you include trying-to-hang-on Rivian). The reasons for disappearances are many and varied, and today, I’d like to focus on DeSoto via this 1950 Custom Coupe. DeSoto had some good sales years until it didn’t, and then it was ultimately crowded out. That being the case, I was pleased to find the listing, courtesy of Jack M., for this restored coupe. It calls Farmington, New Mexico, home, and it’s available here on craigslist for $14,000.

  • Bold Brute! 1969 AMC SC/Rambler

    Bold Brute! 1969 AMC SC/Rambler

Originally intended as a 500 unit halo model to generate some buzz, AMC’s SC/Rambler wore a bold and patriotic color scheme and backed up that flash with a 390 V8, Hurst shifter, and more. This 1969 AMC SC/Rambler in Fairmont, West Virginia emerges after a reported 20 years of storage for an auction here on eBay. AMC’s underdog status behind the “big three” (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors) inspired deliberately brash and polarizing styling choices. White bread with mayonnaise wasn’t going to cut the mustard, so to speak, and AMC pulled all the levers on the SC/Rambler. Thanks to WesternPARegion for some details, and to reader Curvette for spotting this storage unit find. With a few days left, the auction needs one optimist to fan the flames with a $19,999.99 opening bid.

  • Topper Included! 1971 Dodge D100

    Topper Included! 1971 Dodge D100

The Big Three always had a tendency to hold onto truck designs for long periods; planned obsolescence was a concept that only the passenger car side of the business could apparently afford. Therefore, during the Dodge “Sweptline” period of 1961 to 1971, styling trends had changed dramatically, and by the 1971 model year, Dodge trucks looked a little old hat. These days, however, they look great and you won’t see them all over the place as you might with their Ford and Chevy competition. This one is among the Barn Findiest of Barn Finds, and the seller points out that the “topper is included,” although I’m not sure that’s going to sway too many buyers. Offered on eBay in Haslett, Michigan, it has an opening bid of $1,000. And you could be the first bid. (more…)

  • Well-Preserved: 1976 AMC Pacer in Minneapolis

Well-Preserved: 1976 AMC Pacer in Minneapolis

Every so often, a listing pops up that reminds us why quirky, underappreciated classics are still some of the most fun finds on craigslist. This 1976 AMC Pacer—yes, the famous wide small car—might be one of the most charming examples to hit the Minneapolis market in a while. With just 66,000 miles, a clean title, and an asking price of $2,500 OBO, it’s the kind of attainable nostalgia that’s getting harder to find. Thanks for the tip Jack M.!

  • Ultra-Rare Survivor: 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IV

Ultra-Rare Survivor: 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IV

A craigslist listing out of Seattle showcases a car that almost never appears on the open market, an authentic 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge equipped with the coveted Ram Air IV package. According to the seller, this is a real Judge with 54,000 miles and a long life of preservation. The ad calls it a survivor with just one repaint, which is impressive for any fifty-four-year-old muscle car, let alone one optioned at this level. Thanks for the tip, Curvette!

  • 1 of 27 Built: 1999 BMW 540i Touring Wagon

    1 of 27 Built: 1999 BMW 540i Touring Wagon

When it comes to assessing the rarity of a vehicle, we can’t just blame the Corvette guys for picking apart their build sheets down the smallest detail. As a long-time BMW fan, we do the same thing, but in many cases, the low production numbers are typically quite real, especially when you combine a desirable option package with a model that typically didn’t attract buyers looking for that equipment. In the case of a BMW 5-Series Touring Wagon like this one here on craigslist, it’s legitimately rare for combining the long-roof design with the desirable factory sport package – and it’s available for just $5,950.

  • 52K Original Miles: 1996 Ford Taurus GL

52K Original Miles: 1996 Ford Taurus GL

The third generation Ford Taurus was a moonshot car if there ever was one. After years of reigning supreme as one of the best-selling mid-sized sedans, Ford decided to overhaul its aging Taurus model and launch a bold new vision for what the company believed its hero car should be. The so-called “jellybean” design was nothing short of polarizing, and sadly, the upgrades and refinements that came standard didn’t yield the same success as prior generations. Still, they were decent cars, and very few remain in any sort of condition today, especially with just over 50,000 miles like this 1996 Taurus GL listed here on craigslist for $4,000.
