1973 Mustang Mach 1: Boss In The Background

1973 Mustang Mach I

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

While bidding on this Mach 1 might be extremely low, $200 to be exact and without a reserve, it isn’t what interests me in this photo. This isn’t the first time a car in the background has caught my attention more than the car that is for sale. In this case, the car in the distance is another Mustang and might be something of considerable desire. What really caught my attention with it was what appears to be the word Boss with the several numbers below it on the front fender. Could this Mustang in the background be a Boss 302? Have a closer look yourself and let us know what you think! Find the listing here on eBay in Hartselle, Alabama.

definitely BOSS 30 but no further digit. well done. As a matter of interest, I Always look at the background of the pictures , gives you a better idea of what sort of gear is on sale. After all who could let cars like this get into such a state. looks like the windows have been open to the weather too from the interior deterioration. shame.

Mail box / Boat stick on lettering. The 71 Mustang you are looking at has a better chance of being a Boss 351 than the 70 Mustang in the background being a Boss 302 . Even low buget guys clone their cars in their own ways. Cheap scare tactic for intimidation for street racing. This is just what I have seen in my lifetime.

not to be a ‘negative nancy’…lord knows I’d love to find a ’65 fastback for myself, and I’m no expert, but those don’t look like the style/graphic of the Boss 302’s in the past…just saying…Josh thanks for all the cars…they are all awesome!

Like the others mentioned…..nope. No Boss. By the way, a B2 “always” has a G in the Vin………..if you can see the Vin.

As to the car for sale………….forget it
