Update 4/29/15 – We have decided to make some changes to this event. Read more about them here!

From 4/19/15 – We hinted at it and now here it is! Come drive with us on some of the most exciting and scenic roads in Idaho! High speed sweepers, long straights, tight hairpins, and European style switchbacks await the lucky few who will join us on our journey from Boise, Idaho to the beautiful lakeside village of McCall, Idaho. The inaugural Barn Finds Rally will be held on Saturday, May 16th. An impromptu car show/pre-registration will be held Friday evening and the rally will start Saturday morning after a brief welcome meeting. Lunch will be provided during the day and an awards dinner will be held in the evening. On Sunday participants will be free to explore McCall or return to their respective homes. A detailed schedule and route book will be provided to all entrants. Keep reading for more details and an application form.

Mountain roads

Destination

Unknown to entrants, but a route book will be provided!

The historic Hotel McCall is situated right on the banks of the striking Payette Lake. We may never get to experience what the heroic rally drivers of old went through, but for a weekend we can dream about what it must have been like to retire to beautiful mountain resort after an exhausting, but exhilarating day of driving through the Alps! Late entries may have stay at one of our designated overflow hotels, so don’t waste any time getting signed up.

Eligibility

To maintain a vintage feel for this event we would like to stick to pre-80 sports and special interest cars, but as one of our readers pointed out, many of us own non-running barn finds. So, please contact us for exceptions. Real barn finds and survivors are encouraged, but not required. Anything interesting will obviously get extra thumb ups and respect points. An inspection checklist will be provided prior to the event, but it is always a good idea to have a AAA membership or something just in case.

Price

FREE!

Only $350 per vehicle! That fee includes lunch, awards dinner, and lodging on Saturday. Compare it to other low-buck rallies and you will see that this is a bargain!

Application

Click here to fill out the application. We are currently limiting the field to 10 cars and asking that all applications be in by May 2nd, so hurry and reserve your spot today!

Darn, if one of my eligible resto-in-progress cars was ready I’d be there.

You should have some souvenir rallye plates made up. I would be interested in one for my sons wall in his room. He already has a couple of French Rallye plates. Maybe sell some T shirts too

Well, I am in Boise the week leading up to the 16th. I may be able to grab my Datsun 510 out of the storage in Portland, drive over to Boise the weekend before and run this! I think I will need to find a co-driver…

Not yet, we have a bunch of people who have expressed interested, but they must be procrastinating.
