If you haven’t owned enough vintage Cadillacs to suit your fancy, this one will have you seeing red in no time. The 1973 year was one of Cadillac’s best, with other two hundred thousand deVilles produced in either coupe or sedan body styles. While that makes this a very common car. This one was produced in a color combination that you’re unlikely to see again soon – bright red, with a bright red interior! Find it here on craigslist for $8,000.
Located in suburban St. Louis, the seller states this is a one owner car with 80,000 original miles. He doesn’t specifically say if it’s the original paint job, but it certainly looks clean. No photos are provided of the engine, but it was originally equipped with either a 500 cubic inch, or the “economy” model 472, either with four barrel carburetor. If you love that super soft GM ride, rearward facing tail fins, and you like your cars unaltered and practically untouched, this might be one for you.
It’s all red, all the time, inside and out. Do you love it or hate it?
Does it run ? How are radiator hoses ? Have the brake lines been flushed ? It it safe?
i like the red on red. seller needs to post some more photos. if the seller is willing to take a offer on this the car might make a nice driver. nice find.
Great Cars. $8K is all the money in the world for that car
This car is great. What a cushy ride it would be. Though I never did like that strap door handle.
Too much red! Nice car, but I’d never own it.
What an uncommon color, I can’t recall seeing another Caddy from this era this shade of red. It sure seems to be in very good condition. Personally, I like it with the exception of the landau bars (?) but like Ceezy I don’t think its one I would want to own
Wow, that thing is RED, but very clean!
The hood release cable handle is broken.. Notice the vice-grips in the lower left interior picture.
I don’t like the landau bars either. Other than that I like it.
Not sure about the steering wheel, seems wrapped. Nonetheless, if you have ever ridden in a early 70’s Caddi, you will know the level of comfort this car has. Plus that great big engine. The older I get, the more appealing these cars are to me.
Red over red isn’t my favorite color combo, but I have always admired these because they are so handsome….and manly too. For driving I think I’d prefer this to a ’59 because I’d actually drive it….more than a ’59 anyway.
You could do a lot worse for your $8K than this, and I think we’ve all seen some recent examples of “a lot worse than this”.
Wonder if the original owner ordered it to match her lipstick.
This is one of those big land yacht’s I would actually like to own. Such a nice big hiway cruiser, made with comfort in mind. Totally agree with Dan h on the fact the older I get the more I like these. I think fairly priced also. This color combo was ordered as a Dynasty Red w/med. garnet (red) interior. Nice find!
The Landau bars make me wonder…. There are five for sale on Hemmings and none have the bars. Most caddies with them are used for hearses and ambulances, so maybe a madam bought this and used it to transport customers to and from her bordello….. HUMMMMM
If only this car could talk….LOL
Needs red fuzzy dice! …and maybe the guys from Pulp Fiction behind the wheel eating a “Royale with Cheese”
Or a big Kahuna burger. I adore the red on red as well as the white on red, But it has to be a rag top. I would gladly pay the $8k ir it was.
