The front end of this Buick shows why this is such a cool and unique car of the 1950’s. Resembling something of an everyday “joe” with two cigars in his mouth, this 1952 Buick Special Sedan is in nice shape wearing a fine layer of dust from a long term storage. We love the two-tone green paint, and the car overall looks like a sweet deal at $6,000. Find it here on craigslist out of Lapine, Oregon.

The craigslist ad for this Buick does not give any real information on the car, other than it has a straight 8, and it runs and drives. Which is a good start, as the pictures show what looks like a very nice car. There is definitely a layer of dust on this one, so it is likely it has been stored for a while. The paints condition is difficult to make out as some photos give the appearance of a shiny luster, while some don’t. The roof paint almost appears to have a metallic look.  The chrome and trim pieces look spot on, and the overall exterior appearance looks great. Unfortunately, there are no engine or interior photos with this Buick, but if the interior was in reasonable condition the $6,000 price tag still gets us excited over this Buick.

More information and photos would certainly spark our interest further on this Buick. Although as it sits, from what we can see, it looks like a good deal. An interior is cheaper than fixing a rusty body with bad chrome. Who is willing to roll the dice on this ’52 Buick Special? We know we are!

This car is a steadfast representative of 1950’s America. Big, solid, unwavering steel, that took a backseat to anyone. It is a reminder to much simpler time when made in the USA was the norm and not the exception. Love this car for what it states about the era, clean it up and drive it proudly.

I think you VR meant “backseat to no one” not anyone.

    I totally agree. I have a 49, 53 and a 55 Buick.

Love that antenna mast at the front and center of the roof. I’ll just bet that is a solid unmolested old Buick.
