Finding a solid car from the ’60s and ’70s can be a challenge, but how about the 20’s? Reader Shaun H blew us away when he sent in photos of his 1929 Ford Model A Fordor that he found. The car has been in storage for most of its 82 year life and it is in incredible condition. Shaun and his family have had it for the past 10 years and it has been an important part of the family. Now that Shaun’s kids are off to college he has decided it’s time to let her go to a new home. So he has listed it here on Seattle Washington’s craigslist and he is only asking $6,900.
The Model A was Fords follow up to its extremely successful Model T, and after just two years there were over a million Model As built. While there were almost 5 million Model As built during its production run, there aren’t many left that are original and intact. This one isn’t perfect, but it hasn’t been restored and it runs and drives. This car was obviously well maintained throughout its life. The second owner of the car bought it in the early ’50s and kept it in their garage until Shaun bought it. He has done some work to it, but only to keep it running and drivable.
The few things Shaun has done include installing a new battery, water pump, and points. Shaun was even able to teach his children about mechanics with this car. Given the originality of the car, we would leave it just like it is. We only wish this car was one of the rarer body styles. There were 9 different Model A body styles, ranging from a roadster to a dual cowl town car. This car is one of the Murray bodied Fordor Sedans, but we aren’t sure if it’s a standard or deluxe model. The value of these cars can vary wildly based on body style and condition, but we think Shaun’s asking price is more than reasonable.
We would like to thank Shaun for sharing his Model A barn find with us and we wish him luck with the sale. If you’re looking for a Model A to just drive and enjoy, a great starter for a restoration, or just want a nice hat, then give Shaun a call.
for a running drive of that age I would say the price is a bit low.?? I agree it would be a geat starter car , at that price a bit of a steal..
This would be a great start for someone to get a nice model a to tinker with , way to far away for me , darn good price to
Nice old car, good price.

Thanks Shaun. We have updated the link in the post. Thanks for letting us know and please keep us informed on the status of the sale.
How elegant is the design of that front seat. Those curves are amazing.
And the front seat is adjustable too! Just turn the knob for short and shorter legs. Tall people sit in the back, plenty of leg room. :-)
The craigslist has expired will repost in a week or so. I will post when the car is sold OR I decide to keep it. Thanks!
this is wht i am looking for . you realy have nice car .just have to dream fer now.hill i might trade my wife for that model a.
Nadine has been sold and is on her way back to Texas. It is a father-son project.
has this car been sold?
I was once the owner of this car in Plano, TX. I would love to know where it is now.
Its a useable classic old car, its got less rust on it than my 1998 ford, i long to find something like this myself.
with the cowl lights, that makes it a delux town sedan. that was a great price for it.
