This non-Hornet is a 1982 AMC Concord DL and it’s in Branford, Connecticut, just a few miles east of New Haven. The seller has it listed on eBay with a current bid price of $1,300 and there is only one day left to get your bids in. You know that you’ve always wanted a Hornet! I mean, a Concord!

This car has had the same owner since way back in 1986. How many of you have owned a vehicle for thirty years? The Concord was AMC’s Hornet replacement from 1978 to 1983 and they were a bit of an upgrade in finishes over the Hornet. Sort of like my old 1986 LeBaron was a “K-Car with chrome”, that’s how I’ve always thought of the Concord compared to the Hornet. This example looks pretty nice, no? I don’t see a bit of rust anywhere on this car and the seller says that it’s 100% rot-free with solid unibody floors, bottoms of doors, and trunk. The driver’s side is in great condition!

But, as you can see from this photo, it must have suffered from some sort of zombie attack or sideways hail storm, possibly? Those are the weirdest dings and dents, as far as location, that I’ve ever seen. It had to have been from being stored in a garage and having something bumping up against it. what a shame for all of that rust-free metal and original paint to have suffered that damage! The seller does mention that the hood and trunk were repainted some time ago due to the paint fading, so I guess maybe it’s time to just restore the entire exterior of this one. Or, just leave it as is and not worry about knuckleheads parking next to you. Yeah, I’d leave it pre-dented like this. This looks like Vintage Red over Topaz Gold to me, any AMC scholars out there?

One place where you won’t have to do any work is inside this car, it’s almost perfect, right down to the pedals! This classic velour looks like it’s in almost like-new condition, but the seller mentions a few cigarette burns on the driver’s seat! Dang. Leather was an option on the Concord Limited but at least this DL has the optional air-conditioning, but as usual, it could use a recharge.

This is AMC’s 258 cubic-inch, inline-six with 110 hp and 205 ft-lb of torque. Supposedly it starts with a quick twist of the key and runs perfectly. The whole car is tight and operates like new and other than those odd dings and dents this looks like a great car. Come to think of it, maybe it’s even better to have those dings and dents, at least you won’t have to worry about some bonehead parking next to you with this one and if you were looking for a vintage car to tinker with and drive around town, you can’t beat this price!

Just look at that crazy two tone maroon and gold. Gee, I’m not sure if I love it or hate it yet.

Looks like it’s been “kicked” a few times on the passenger side. Or the lawnmower, putting it away in the garage.

Call paintless dent removal and double the price. If someone with little budget needs a nice family car, here it is. That six cylinder engine will run after the world ends with a little care.

Dents are from golf balls. Look in the background.

I agree…golf ball dents. Lol. Ummm…begs the question about glass replacement. But, this looks like a good car for a good price. I’m fixing up,the house and gonna move early summer, so…not now.

Needs rear springs and maybe shocks. Hard to believe this seller who claims no smoking odors but cigarette burns on the seats. Like saying “All bald tires but drives great in the rain and plenty of steel belts showing”.

My aunt had a two door like this but all burgundy and it was a loaded Limited with leather. Also had a sunroof, tape deck and the AMX turbine wheels. I want to say it had a built in CB but no AC. It was an AMC exec, demo or some such. Nice car.
