Barn Finds reader Michael has had this “fire chief” Ford Galaxie for almost nine years but is ready to pass it on to someone else. It’s even wearing it’s original paint!

Asking Price: $$5000
Location: Fort Lauderdale Florida
Mileage: 80,400
Title Status: Clean

Seller’s Description: This is a fun car that was made into a fire chief car years ago. It has a red light on top and siren in dash that work along with a time period correct fire radio and microphone under the dash. It won’t take much to take it back to stock original or resto mod if you choose. I’ve owned it almost 9 years and just don’t have the time any more and hate to see her just sitting. I have accumulated extra parts that I’m passing on to the new owner. Tires are also good.

Body Condition: Good condition, original paint with some spots of rust which you can see in the pics. No dents and no history of any accidents that I’m aware of. Interior is the original red and white seats.

Mechanical Condition: Runs good, has the original 292 v8 with manual 3 on the tree transmission. Manual steering and brakes.

With a siren, period radio and the all-important bubble light on top, this homage to a 1960’s fire chief car could provide a lot of fun! Thanks to Michael for listing the car with us and remember–if you have a classic to sell, list it here on Barn Finds!

“Runs good, has the original 292 v8 with manual 3 on the tree transmission. Manual steering and brakes.”

I had a ’61 Fairlane sedan (the big one, before Ford downsized it) with a 292 and column shift. It had 35,000 original miles when I bought it in 1981 for $750. It was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. It never let me down. My girlfriend at the time called it Elvira, after the Oak Ridge Boys’ song, which was popular at the time. I never did, tho. My brother called it the Bluesmobile, because it was light blue in color. I just called it “my car.” :)
