Seller’s Description: 1935 Buick Sedan Street Rod
This car was built in the 90’s by the current owner’s step dad from an original, steel bodied sedan.
The frame was cleaned up and the front clip was removed and replaced with one from an early 70’s Nova to include the power disc brakes, power steering box and suspension. The rear axle is believed to have come out of the same car and is a standard 10 bolt set up with drum brakes. Wheels are chrome, real spoke and they have 235/75/15 Michelin LTX tires wrapped around them, they’re in good condition but they are old. The engine is thought to be from a similar era Blazer and is a 350 which is running a 4 bbl carb, dual exhaust (needs a little work) and has been fitted with an HEI distributor. It’s attached to a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission. There is a York AC compressor on it as well and it blows very cold air into the comfy cabin.
The interior was left in a fairly stock configuration, with large bench seats front and rear that were reupholstered in a black velour, the doors were also done in the same material. All the gauges were replaced with a period look VDO set along with the clock, which works. A shifter console was built in wood and houses the power window controls and the JVC stereo. All the electronics work, the lights, horn, wipers, etc.
To finish it all off, the car was painted in a dark burgundy and the windows tinted in a bronze color.
He and he wife enjoyed the car for roughly 9000 miles and few years before he came ill and passed away about 10+ years ago. The car has sat in the garage since. When the current owner’s mom passed away this past year, he pulled the car out and recommissioned it by changing the gas tank and fuel pump and the filters, the entire brake system – lines, calipers in front and drums in back, new pads and shoes and master cylinder – were replaced, a new battery, spark plugs and wires, oil change and a new 2:91-1 gear set was dropped into the axle.
The all steel body is in great condition. There is some surface rust underneath but no perforations anywhere.
In sitting in the garage for the last decade plus, she picked up some scratches and minor dings. She really benefit from a deep cleaning, buffing and some good detailing, however, she is totally turn key and ready for very comfortable cruising, especially with the ice cold AC and the tilt wheel.
The owner is asking $24,500 for this beautiful boulevard cruiser.
