This 1940 Mercury 4-Door Convertible has been painstakingly restored by some of the most well-known hands in the hot-rod business. With only roughly 1,000 Mercury Sedan Convertibles built, this extremely rare car was built with no expenses spared, with receipts totaling over $115,000. The restoration was started by Fred’s Custom Cars of Ontario, CA. The original engine was rebuilt by Engine Supply in Santa Ana and mated to a fresh Ford C4 transmission. a 1949 Ford steering column was chosen to keep a stock look but provide signal lights. The differential is from a late-model Ford. The bodywork on the vehicle was done by the world-famous Bobby Walden of Walden’s Speed Shop in Pomona, CA, including the doors, body panels, the fenders, and the new floor pan. Other features of this incredible build are extra parts, including headlights, running boards, wiring, gauge clusters, front fenders, trim pieces, seat frames/springs, Holley Carburetor, Road Runner Intake Manifold, a new convertible top frame, and much more. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to own a true American classic and finish the restoration of a show car bound to make everyone at the meet jealous.
