BF Classified: 1946 Ford Coupe

Location: Stillwater, OK
Mileage: 99,999
Title Status: Clean

Seller’s Description: We’re selling this car on behalf of our widow friend. Her husband had owned it since at least 1984. Just before he died he’d installed a different engine but had not completed the job. We got it running in our restoration shop, breaking it in as if from new but not knowing for sure what he’d done with it. The car starts, runs, and drives great. There’s a video available at

and LOTS more pictures at https://flikr.com/gp/193252014@N03/66w8pN and https://flic.kr/s/aHsmW6yNCD.

Doug spent decades scouring the swap meets for rare parts and incorporating them in this beautiful car. The flathead V-8 purrs like a kitten but comes on like a tiger with the dual Stromberg 97 carbs on top of the high-rise Thickstun intake manifold flanked by Fenton aluminum heads. The idle is very comfortable but has a mild lope that lets one know it’s ready to go. The 3-speed column shift transmission sends power to the Columbia 2-speed rear end which still needs a shift mechanism to be installed. The fender skirts and spotlights were popular period accessories. PLEASE NOTE: There is a clean Oklahoma title in the name of the family trust but when cleaning the left frame rail to verify the title number one additional digit was discovered at the end of the VIN number that does NOT appear on the title. This oversight undoubtedly occurred decades ago but the buyer needs to be aware and proceed accordingly.
