Seller’s Description: This Willy’s-Overland pickup truck has a good body with surface rust. The cab floor has some small rust holes and the bed has some rust thin spots. the only dents are in and along the bed. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner in the 1990s and is in good shape – except for the fuel pump. So mileage on the engine is only a few hundred miles. The leaf springs are pretty stiff now due to sitting so long. Transmission, transfer case, and both axles are in good shape. The rear driveshaft is bent and is currently disconnected, laying in the bed at this time.
The truck was running in the early 2000s, but my wife hates the vehicle and so when the fuel pump went out I never fixed it. Parts back then were fairly easy to get, I have the replacement fuel pump. I believe the pickup is original except for the things I upgraded for safety and driveability. These changes include a modern coil, distributor cap, and plug wires (visible in the pics). Larger drum brakes replaced the original, and it has a modern muffler, supposedly to improve torque. I added modern shock absorbers and added new wheels and tires on when I was driving it in the early 2000s. Instrumentation worked back when it was running. The Interior is barebones but has the original fixtures as far as I can tell.
The bumpers were welded on by the previous owner because bumpers were required in Colorado, where I bought the truck back in 1997. I have owned this pickup for 24 years.
When the pickup ran it could climb anything! Fun to drive.
I have a service manual for the vehicle, it is in rough shape but is all there except for some rips.
