BF Classified: 1961 Chevrolet C60 Bus

Asking Price: $5,000
Location: LaMoure

Seller’s Description: Meet Walter. He was supposed to be the Wedding Wagon [aka party bus] for two of my siblings’ weddings [named for our late grandfather]. However, when you purchase a bus that has been converted into a camper and needs a full restoration in February and the first wedding is in June and the second in September, your chances of success are very slim, likely impossible. Who would take this on considering the odds you might ask? A crazy lady with ADHD that blinded her from the reality of how long this would actually take. I’m the crazy lady.

Anyways, the weddings have come and gone and the bus still sits. We made a mad push to get the interior done and two nights before the first wedding the engine swap was complete and she ran! But at this point the outside was only half painted, the fenders still needed a lot of love, the seats weren’t done, and there was definitely no insurance.

Walter never carried a wedding party, but he has seen some significant improvements.
All remnants of his camper bus days are gone [think 1970s carpet and couches]
The rotten and warped flooring is gone, replaced by modern peel and stick.
The interior has a fresh coat of a lovely minty paint.
The original engine [locked up] has been replaced.
The master brake cylinder is replaced.
We acquired 9 period correct [but not original] seats that come with him.

The original 261 was locked up. Conveniently it came with a spare. The spare turns over a runs for a bit. She just needs some tuning.

This started as what I swore was the best idea I’d ever had, but the time to finish it right is a commodity I don’t have and can’t make. Even though it didn’t work out for me, Walter has plenty of potential for his next owner. He deserves another chapter. I just don’t have the time to write it.

In the hands of the right person, Walter could be a rad party bus as I had planned, or:

a sweet skoolie
a mobile bar
a mobile store
the coolest food truck you’ve ever seen
or he could go back to his camper roots

I’m confident there is someone out there who sees the potential in Walter that I did, now I just hope that someone finds this ad.
