Seller’s Description: This is a partially restored RARE 1961 Pontiac Tempest. Designed by John DeLorean this was Motor Trend’s 1961 Car of the Year. Its power comes from its ‘straight-4’ or ‘Trophy 4’ engine and in line with its pioneering ways features a rear-mounted transaxle. To date—This engine has an ORIGINAL 11,111 miles on it.
A friend was restoring this car for me and passed away during the process and I’m moving on to other projects. Underneath was bead-blasted, sheet metal replaced where needed and sealed. The inside, wheels and trim are mostly disassembled but intact and included. There is a large dent on top of the car where a limb fell on it and that has not yet been addressed.
