Seller’s Description: 1962 Buick Skylark – This is an original northern California car that spent its entire existence in that region up until March 2021 when my brother and I decided to drive it 3417 miles to Northern Virginia. It is a single-family car, purchased from the niece of the original owner and it is a true survivor. The original owners recently rebuilt the engine and almost the entire engine bay including a respraying of the engine bay. The original (rebuilt) engine is a 215 CU 190 HP all-aluminum V8 and whoever rebuilt it did a great job- we made the cross-country trip in a week and the only real issue we ran into was bad gasoline at one of our stops. It has a brand new Edelbrock 4 BBL carburetor and numerous new/rebuilt parts including a new fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor cap, points/condenser, spark plug wires, coil, voltage regulator, power steering pump, etc. In addition, to the engine rebuild, the two-speed automatic transmission was also rebuilt along with brake work etc. The result is a car that starts right up, runs really well with plenty of power (we drove across the mountains and at one point reached 8000 ft above sea level and she continued to perform – amazingly well actually. The interior is also in really good shape, it has new carpet and the seats and upholstery are in remarkably good condition, considering her 59-year-old vintage. As with many cars that spent their entire lives in California, the body and underside are solid and rust-free, the chrome bumpers, trim, and badging are all in great shape as you can see in the pictures. So if you are looking for a unique and fairly rare example of a true rust-free survivor with a unique drive train, this may be the car for you. All it really needs is exterior painted or you could leave it as is and clear coat it to lock in the patina… it’s up to you. It also includes the original California black plates with registration stickers that do not expire until July 2021 and a clean California title. Forgot to mention it has new tires all around with approximately 3400 miles on them. The odometer reads 97,110 miles and based on the condition of the car and brake pedal rubber, I’m guessing that is probably accurate.
