Seller’s Description: Unrestored, Original Paint 1963 Harley-Davidson Duo-Glide FL.
22,910 original miles.
Quite a rare bird.
Due to a factory strike in ‘62/‘63 1963 factory production numbers are very limited. Only 1,096 FL’s were made. We can’t imagine there are any original paint ‘63 FL’s like this left.
Purchased from Gerencer Harley-Davidson in Elkhart, Indiana in 1964. Original owner sold the bike back to the dealership about 10 years ago. A retired dealership mechanic purchased it and it sat in his garage until the current owner/collector’s purchase.
In early Spring the bike was completely gone through by Willie’s R&R Service in West Bend, Wi. Bike comes with meticulous mechanics notes.
Some of the things that were addressed mechanically:
~New tires/balanced
~New brakes
~New front and rear wheel bearings
~New rear and primary chain
~New fluids
~New battery
~Converted to electronic ignition
~New plugs and wires
~Carb gone through- new float
~New front head gasket
~Greased neck and all fittings
~New gas cap seals
~Tanks stripped and sealed/new lining
~New handlebar bushings
~Front neck bearing repacked with grease
~Adjusted front and rear brakes
~Transmission, rear and motor sprockets/seals replaced
~Cleaned and lubed electrical connections
No expense was spared to keep its originality and to ensure it would run like it did in 1963. Runs and rides great. Ride it anywhere.
