The story behind this car:
In 1964 this car was bought new from Earl Davis Chevrolet in Mansfield Ohio. In 1964 the original owner traded the car at Kerr Motors in Shelby Ohio. Kerr Motors was a Chrysler dealer. An employee of Kerr Motors then told his brother about the car that was just traded in and thought he should come to see it. It didn’t take Don Harvey long to realize he needed the car. Not long afterward, Don Harvey of Mansfield Ohio was the proud owner of this 1964 Impala SS 409. According to Don and his son Jeff, this is a 2-4 car. This car has been garage kept from 1964 to the present. It was last driven by Don in 1972 to a relative’s funeral and was last licensed in 19976. It has been stored and washed periodically throughout the years. The car was undercoated by the original dealer. The motor was replaced by Chevrolet under warranty in 1965 when the car had approximately 11,000 miles. It does have about 80% original paint and an original interior. Some of the original paint has worn through to primer (see pics). The car also has original shocks. The protective plastic from the factory is still under the sill plates. The car has just under 23,000 original miles. The battery has been replaced throughout the years. A new exhaust was installed by Jerry Reedy of Mansfield. The engine bay was recently detailed and the front and rear seals on the motor were recently replaced.
