Seller’s Description: 1964 VW Split Window Bus Project

This VW Bus was purchased at least 15 years ago from out in Oregon.

It came out here pretty solid but still needed work.

The new owner dove in and fixed what needed fixing on the body, stripped own the interior, pulled all the padding and vinyl off the seat frames, cleaned them up and painted those.

The frame/pan was also cleaned up and painted and fixed where needed. Other parts were sourced such as new taillights, all new rubber weatherstripping, new headlights and a new wiring harness.

The entire bus was then painted in a bluish grey which appears to be either Baltic Blue or Zenith Blue and the interior sprayed in white. A few pieces were installed, some of the glass reinstalled, the engine set back in and the wiring harness was started.

All that work took place over the last 15 years and with a bunch of other life stuff happening, the idea that this bug bus is going to be finished anytime soon is fleeting so it’s been decided to sell her on to a new home where she can be finished as she should be. The odometer shows 87,691 miles, but true mileage is unknown.

The D code 1200, with dual port heads reportedly starts and runs well.

It appears as though all the parts to get her up and going again are included.

The last few pieces of glass come with it along with mirrors, the aforementioned seat frames, the new writing harness is partially installed, wiper motor and arms, shifter, the new rubber weatherstripping, fuel gauge, door latches, dash knobs.

In reality, most of the heavy lifting has been done and the reassembly and some other work is all that is needed to be back on the road. She will need tires and hubcaps, bumpers, front signal lenses and of course the padding/vinyl for the seats and interior work such as the door cards, carpet and headliner.

If you like VW Buses or just a good project this one is for you, maybe you and your son, or you and your Dad.

Asking price for this great little beauty is $14,500
