Seller’s Description: Thinning out my projects. This 1965 Chrysler Newport was purchased in 2019 from a local family. Aside from a brief owner before me, the vehicle was a one owner and driven by the original purchaser until 2018. Since owning the vehicle I have replaced all of the suspension with new springs, ball joints, tubular upper control arms, urethane bushings, and leaf springs/torsion bars from Firm Feel suspension in Washington. Custom adjustable struts rods were fabricated for this as well. The wheels are staggered 18” Coys smoothies on new Goodyear eagle tires. The body is 98% rust-free, and has great patina. The interior is in great shape, as are the rubber seals. The seats have been professionally reupholstered with factory-like fabric inserts and ultra leather with the factory details and logo on the rear bench. Map and cell-phone pockets were added at this time. The engine and transmission were removed to replace rusted out freeze plugs, but life happened and they have been on mothballs since 2021. At the time of removal, the engine did not smoke, burned no oil, and ran smoothly. The transmission shifted great, but I was going to have it rebuilt as it occasionally was slow to go into reverse. The original 2 barrel carb and manifold (included) have been replaced with a NOS Mopar/edelbrock dual-plane manifold with 650 Demon carb. The carb was properly drained before storage, and a weiand single-plane manifold is included as well as the original air cleaner. A set of ceramic TTI long tube headers designed especially for this car are included. The ignition was updated to a mopar electronic distributor, but the original distributor is included. Control cables are all Lokar. I am debating putting the engine and transmission back in to make it a driver, but if I were the one buying I would want to open up both and give them a once over before reinstalling. Needs a small section of the passenger wheel well replaced, but it’s otherwise 100% there. Glass is all in great shape, and the floors and underside are extremely solid. Comes with quite a few extra NOS trim and interior pieces. Stored in a climate controlled garage for all of my ownership. Includes aluminum radiator from Mancini racing and new power brake booster with dual-channel master cylinder. I have some more unedited videos of the underside that I can provide as well.
