Original California car delivered to Montebello Motors in Montebello, CA
Car was purchased and restoration begun in March of 1995, finished May of 2005 and has accumulated less than 4000 miles since.
Correct and rebuilt S Code 390 motor with serial number 9J115307.
Rebuilt Limited Slip 9” rear end with 3:25 gears and rebuilt tranny believed to be original to car.
No rust and straight body.
Brought to Minnesota from Arizona via trailer as a project car by previous owner. It still had CA Black Plates on it with stickers from 1978. Supposedly was a drag car with a 427 in its early life. In the restoration process I removed welded-on traction bar mounts at the rear floor pan/frame areas and swapped the 3:91 gears back 3:25s.
I also found that the rear left quarter panel had been replaced early on, most likely from a donor car due to similar date stamping on panels.
Interior has original upholstery.
Car runs and drives like new.
