Seller’s Description: 1967 1500 RHD VW Bug with 1966cc engine.
I’ve owned my bug since 1998 (24 Years). She’s a one year only model and she had a full body off restoration between 1998 and 2003. I painted her L397 Lavender Blue, a Karmann Ghia color from 61-62. She has a 1966cc engine, built by Laurie Pettitt in Scotland, with a Vanagon 2.1 wasser boxer crank, Scat C55 cam, twin Empi HPMX 40 Carbs, Berg pulley, deep sump, U.T.F external oil cooler with fan, Vintage Speed Superflow stainless steel muffler, race starter motor, and lots of other goodies. Her motor produces approx. 150bhp and has about 4000 miles on it. She’s on 2” dropped spindles at the front, mildly turned splines at the rear with disc brakes on all four corners. She has front and rear anti roll bars and an aluminum trapeze bar. Electrics have been converted to 12V. Stainless steel euro blade bumpers, Koch horn grills. The stereo is hidden in the glovebox with GRP speaker pods in the footwells. Wheels are original Porsche 914 alloys from California. The interior is original from 1967 and shows some wear on the door cards. The carpets and headliner were relaced during the resto and look great. There is a rev counter and oil temp gauge under the dash. I brought her stateside from Scotland in 2017 (I’m Scottish and came here in 2008), she has a Maryland Title. The body has a few marks here and there, after all she’s an older restoration, but she turns heads wherever she goes and drives like a scalded cat.
