Seller’s Description: *** SALE PENDING ***

– 1969 Porsche 912
– 1.6-liter flat-four engine
– 4-speed manual transmission
– 52,216 miles on the odometer and is believed to be the current mileage.
– Originally a California car, purchased in Kansas by the current owner in October 1987 and is now located in southern Indiana.
– Garaged consistently since 1987.
– Has not been a daily driver since 1990. Until recently, the last time it ran was in late 1995. With minimal effort, the engine was started and the car was driven briefly in July 2021 (see YouTube video: https://youtu.be/9NEBsSMBEgI).
– Engine was rebuilt in July 1984 (service records for the rebuild available). Cylinder #3 has a different size spark plug than the rest. Weber carburetors have been installed (do not have the original Solex carburetors), although they are missing some bolts on the top (uncommon size/pitch).
– Aside from some body parts, it is believed to be all original. A Certificate of Authenticity was received from Porsche, although it has been misplaced. It will be provided to the new owner when found.
– The gas tank needs immediate attention along with the fuel hose to the engine. We used a temporary gas tank to get it running in July 2021.
– The mechanical fuel pump needs to be rebuilt; installed a Facet electric fuel pump in July 2021.
– The starter appears to have a “dead spot”, as it sometimes doesn’t start when it’s cold. I periodically have to rotate the big nut on the engine to get it to crank. Once it warms up, though, it’s good-to-go.
– The front calipers were removed prior to 1990 to be rebuilt, but that was never completed. The front brake lines need to be replaced; replacements will be provided. The parking brake works fine.
– The pedal bushings were replaced prior to 1990 with brass.
– Original Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM/SW radio available, and it works! The dashboard clock works too.
– Originally was painted light ivory but repainted its current color prior to 1987. All the bodywork was performed prior to October 1987.
– Headliner is in great shape.
– Front and rear bumpers were replaced with fiberglass “S” bumpers.
– The seals on the doors were replaced with incorrect ones, and do not permit the doors to close properly.
– The front and rear windows have been removed and reinstalled at some point. The original chrome trim pieces for them are available.
– Original orange bar hood crest.
– The “912” emblem on the trunk lid is missing.
– Cookie-cutter rims with a steel rim for spare.
– While the pan is solid, it has not been thoroughly stripped and rust-proofed. There is rust on the floor inside. There is rust in the trunk in the typical locations. Various other locations have rust as shown in the pictures. Heater boxes are in good shape. Overall, the car is very solid.
– LOTS of parts, carpeting, original driver’s manual, tool kit, and jack available (see pictures)
– Original woodblock located in “extra” battery box.
– Like new car cover.
– All the available records will be provided (most prior to 1987).
– Sold “as is”, no warranty, no returns.
