Seller’s Description: 1969 Triumph TR6 Laurel/Brooklands Green. with working O/D. I bought this car in 2010 from PO with intention of keeping it. Car body is in same condition as when I bought it. It has been in the garage mostly. It needed a clutch. And I began looking into the condition of the car in all places. I removed the engine and transmission and began searching for an OD transmission right away. The running gear and engine received extensive work. I have saved old parts that prove there was not a lot of wear on the engine. Items replaced rods, mains, timing chain, oil pump, rebuilt distributor at Advanced Distributor, sent rocker shaft to RAU in California for grind/chrome/bush, all new brake lines, new clutch and pp, new rotors and pads along with rear brakes, frame stiffener kit at rear end mount welded in by a certified welder, rear hubs rebuilt by Moss dealer in Warren Ohio, replaced seats with correct seats and had re-upholstered at an upholstery shop in Cleveland, all new U-joints, entire rear end assembly removed cleaned and painted along with rebuild activities, added a J-type OD, clutch and brake slave and master’s, exhaust system. The radio is back in place, but it was not connected when I bought the car and it remains that way. New trunk liner kit installed, emergency hood release mechanism installed.
Tie rod ends, trunnions replaced entire front suspension removed, cleaned and painted along with new rubber, bolts and nuts. Scraped, sanded, wire brushed, and pressure washed underside and painted with black rust-oleum. All new radiator hoses and OEM clamps, radiator boiled and leak checked at radiator shop.
The car was painted by PO and had glass fenders installed, and the gel coat was not blocked out well and has waviness. The car is maybe a ten-footer relative to the look of the fenders. Runs very well with excellent oil pressure and dead-on compression values. During engine work, the correct specification was achieved for crank end float.
Did not replace carpets or top. Who needs a top anyway? I have receipts for all. As lengthy as this is, I’m sure I have overlooked something. Floors and rockers rough (I think) but not rotted.
So, it is not original, or perfect, but with a little Triumph oil leakage, it’s a fun car. I have $14k in it, come and test drive it and buy it, I am moving. I think I have a few more pictures available; I believe mileage is not correct, because it cannot show 176,000 on the clock. If you want more pictures, I will try to supply them, promptly. I will get some additional photos posted soon of engine compartment, dashboard, and inside trunk; (inside the trunk I made a spare wheel cover) because I did not get one with the car.
I would consider trade situation for similar conditionTR4. Thank you, Matt
