Seller’s Description: Listing this 1970 Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda W113. This was found sitting part of a private collection. Unfortunately their home, including this 280 SL got flooded out in hurricane Ian. There is a clean title for it. It was salt water, and there was a lot of sand cleaned out, and I am sure there is more still there. I do not know the condition of the drive train but I am sure things will need water drained from them, rebuilt and or replaced. Was able to get the doors, trunk and hood open. Did take off the hood lock as the cable is hard to pull and didn’t want it getting stuck. Put the hood lock in the glove box, see photos. The hood and trunk seem to hit the body when opening and closing, so they definitely need adjusting. Was not able to move the seats or open the soft top door, but it does look like the soft top frame is in there, and can feel a canvas type material, obviously don’t know its condition. The door windows do not move, so the drivers window is stuck down. Was able to tow it around my back yard with a golf cart, so the wheels are rolling and the car is steering. The shift lever doesn’t seem to do anything, and you can feel something moving and vibrating when its being towed around the yard. I have not seen or tried turning over the motor, so do not know the condition of the drive train, but there is a photo of the dipstick and inside of the oil cap. I am sure things will need rebuilt or replaced. The are bubbles, scratches, dents, nicks, rust, and pitting in the paint, body, and chrome. It is being listed as a non-running full restoration project. It is listed on eBay starting at $1.00 with a no reserve so whatever it sells for on there it sells. Also added 347 photos of it on there, please check it out before contacting me. Your welcome to message me if you need the link. Might be open to trades.
