Seller’s Description: 1971 Plymouth Big Block 440 6 pack Motor with a four-speed Mopar A 833 and the original Hurst pistol grip.
Motor is from a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner and was taken out by previous owner (who is a friend) who then rebuilt rebuilt the motor from top to bottom, dropped it back in as a 440 with a 4 Barrell Carburetor and MOPAR Original Manifold and retained the A 833 Transmission with a Hurst Pistol Grip 4 Speed.
The 440 Motor was properly built and broken in and driven 3,000 Miles with proper cam break in and oil change. The previous owner then decided to pull it out with the transmission, sell it to me for a project (’68 Charger) that I never got off the ground and instead built my ’57 Chevy. (I know I can hear the MOPAR enthusiast screaming right now) BUT MY DISINTEREST IS YOUR GAIN.
My friend still has his ’71 Roadrunner to this day and has installed a modern day fuel injected HEMI with a T 56 6 speed Transmission. That is what he wanted to do and while I was lucky to get his motor and transmission I have not completed my project and I most likely will not so I am selling it.
This is a fantastic piece of machinery and comes with an equally strong 4 speed manual pistol grip transmission and
I really want it to go to a good MOPAR home who can install it in a vintage MOPAR and let her run like she was built to do.
The casting on the Transmission is C-99539E-2
The 440 is cast:
3698830-440-S (an original 440 Six Pack Block)
I do not have the time to find a recipient car and would like a true MOPAR enthusiast to do something great with this motor and transmission.
Comes with Air Cleaner Cover (440 Decals), bell housing, full set of headers, The Hurst Pistol Grip shifter and everything it needs to start again and run strong.
The Motor has been in a Temperature controlled garage and is sitting on a six wheel engine stand that comes with the sale as well as 4 wheel dolly with the A 833 transmission on it with the Pistol Grip Shifter. It comes with the clutch plate and all the hardware. This is a complete sale with full transparency.
All items have been carefully covered, tagged and bagged and is ready to go. Just wheel the motor out on its 6 wheel engine stand and 4 wheel pallet for the transmission.
