Seller’s Description: 1976 Triumph Spitfire off frame restoration.
It’s been 6 plus years in the making, mainly to see if I could for one and most importantly whether I’d enjoy it. I’m very pleased with the way it turned out and had fun doing it , so on to the next in line.
The engine and transmission have just or 500 Miles on their respective rebuilds both were professionally done although I did help (learn)
Through that process. The suspension is all-new with a lowered front and rear end to give it a more aggressive stance, I never like how high they sat off the ground. New tires 175 -70 -r13
I replaced the floors on both sides, A Pilar B Pilar rear fender on the left side rockers on both sides. Any rust was replaced with metal, no patches of glass and Bondo. The Lucas (prince of darkness) was replaced with Autowire harness, a major improvement in the electrical, real fuse block with relays…
Added extra is a factory steel hardtop.
There is the soft top stowed in the back behind the seats. That is the only thing I didn’t replace.
The previous owner did but before I bought it so there are no holes or tears no cracks in the rear window, soooo?
The interior is all-new, new seat foams, carpet, and door panels. Upgraded stereo, aluminum radiator, upgraded brakes lines S/S
And pads. New fuel tank.
The drawbacks with this car are that it is in its original configuration, meaning it has a 4 speed trans with the original 3.89 differential.
So great around town not so much at highway speeds.
