Seller’s Description: Up for bids is my 1978 extremely original, and turns out rare Buick Skylark Custom Hatchback. There were only 1,277 of this model produced, making it Buicks lowest production model that year. Having only been gently driven 62,415 miles to date, this car sports all its original paint, original red interior, original, never rebuilt 3.8 L V-6 engine and comes with options of fancier cars of the era: Bucket seats with console, cruise control, tilt wheel, cold AC, and factory Delco AM/FM radio. It’s also extremely clean underneath and has no rust, having lived its entire life garaged in Eugene, Or. or in my garage outside of Chattanooga, Tn. This is a one-of-a-kind and especially desirable in red with a white roof. It was featured in the November 2015 Buick Bugle and also has been awarded a Buick Cub of America Archival designation for its originality. The car runs and drives great and has recently received new radial tires and a new AC compressor. The flaws are that the original headliner is beginning to form air pockets, the plastic gauge cover has glue residue luckily where it doesn’t block any view of gauges or warning lights, and there is an old, small cigarette burn in the driver’s velour seat. There is also the usual, minor road rash on lower fenders and bumper fillers, common on unrestored cars of this era. I’m selling due to my advancing age.
