Seller’s Description: Chevrolet K-10. 1978 Chevy K10 Cheyenne short bed 4×4 highly optioned with AC, Cruise control, and a tachometer. Recently passed California smog and runs great. A new crate motor was installed when the truck had just over 80k miles on it. The motor has around 50k miles but was installed in the mid-eighties. No records on the motor swap. Reportedly the transmission was rebuilt about 10k miles ago before being parked. Door hinge pins were replaced at some point and open/close well. The tires are good, new windshield whippers, tune-up items, and a new catalytic converter. The truck had sat for around ten years until I took it over from a close friend who owned it for many years and knew the original owner. The truck is in running condition but needs tinkering. The AC, Cruise control, and tach are not currently working. I have not spent time investigating these items but do know they are all intact with the original equipment. The stereo is old and should be replaced as well as door speakers. New 6×9 speakers will be included in the sale of the truck. There is an exhaust leak I believe from the driver’s side manifold. Not extreme but there, haven’t tried tightening bolts. There is normal surface rust under the truck on the frame and drivetrain that can be easily cleaned up and painted. The front passenger inner fender well has through rust believe to be from a leaking battery. Happy to send pictures on request. Body mount bushing on driver side rear cab is flattened and could benefit from a replacement. Interior is ok and in usable condition. Normal wear and tear and decent for being 42 years old. Headliner looks to have been replaced and sun visors are not installed but come with the truck. This is a great fairly low mileage truck to fix up and enjoy. My hope is to put it all out there so as not to disappoint. Good bones on this one and worth investing in. I drive around town comfortably in style. Thumbs up is commonplace.
