Seller’s Description: 1985 Mercedes Benz 230TE imported from Germany.
Imported to Texas on 3/15/1990 from Germany. The importing owner drove the car from 1990 to 2007 when it was transferred to the current titleholder. This car sat in storage from the early teens before being removed from storage and refurbished this year.
Work that has been performed this year:
The entire fuel system has been rebuilt or replaced (cleaned Fuel Tank, New Fuel Pump, Fuel Accumulator, Filter, and lines. The fuel distributor was completely rebuilt and all new injectors and seals were installed). Starts on the first time.
The brakes have been replaced. (New Master cylinder, new reservoir, all new hoses, new front calipers, and pads)
The Ignition system has also been completely replaced. (New cap, rotor, plugs, and wires).
All new cooling system. (New radiator, water pump from Germany, thermostat, hoses, and Kilma Designs Auxiliary water pump delete kit installed with new Kilma vacuum controlled heater valve).
The AC system has been completely updated with a new kit from Kilma Designs. (New R134 crossflow condenser, new dryer, new compressor, all new lines, and proper R134 service valves installed, with a high flow cooling fan). Cools flawlessly.
All-new exhaust. Factory rear Mercedes muffler imported from Germany. New rubber isolators. New center section and downpipe with 02.
New rear hatch struts have been replaced and the rear hatch stays up as it should.
All-new drive belts.
New wipers front and back.
New hood pad.
New tires.
Rebuilt antenna mast and motor.
Driver’s seat removed and seat base rebuilt with Kurth Classics seat reinforcement kit imported from Germany.
New speedometer cable.
New German H4 right side headlight assembly imported from Germany.
New battery.
New floor mats imported from Turkey.
Oil service just completed.
The bad:
Has had visible paintwork in the past. Not show quality but polished very nicely.
The driver’s seat has visible cracking in the leather and the rear passenger rear leather is slightly discolored.
The rear trunk carpet is in need of replacement. Have a quote from World Upholstery.
The rear tan vinyl C Pillar covers have shrunk with age and are in need of replacement.
The radio is not connected as it was in the process of being replaced with a period-looking Bluetooth radio.
