Seller’s Description: A rust-free example of a very rare Series 2 CX Prestige. The Prestige was the longer wheelbase model and with the automatic was using the same engine as the sportier CX GTI. This one spent most of its life in California and Arizona so the car is solid with only a small area near the rear side window. Most CX of this vintage have rusted badly.
This car also comes with a complete spare car which could be restored or used for parts. The blue car is the parts car in the pictures.I drove both cars onto the car trailer when I bought them from a collector in Minnesota.
Recent work includes a full tune-up, new tires, repair of small hydraulic leaks, and work on the cooling system,new crank position sensor. The wheels are not OEM, they are Alfa Romeo wheels with a similar offset, but 15 inch vs original 14 inch rims.

The car rides and drives like a Citroen CX should. These later cars have fuel injection which makes them enjoyable to drive and easy to tune and maintain.

The interior is in excellent shape.

The exterior is good with some small dents and fading and scratches. I am not aware of a repaint but the hood seems to be a newer spray of gold. There is some variation in the paint on the car, but with the car being so rust-free a repaint would be worth the investment.

I have receipts from a transmission shop that restored the 3 speed ZF unit less than 5 K miles ago.
No leaks of oil, transmission fluid, or hydraulic fluid are present.

The second car is also a Prestige and has a very good interior. I have removed the head for repair work and it still needs to be done. As I said, I drove this car onto the trailer. But it has more than twice the miles on the car and motor compared to the gold one. It also has significant rust.

Both cars have European headlights which make the car look as aerodynamic as the original designer had intended.
