Parting with Foxy is such sweet sorrow. A silver 1986 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser 4WD with 168,522 miles, VIN JT3FJ60G2G1135108, and we think one of the previous owners didn’t fight hard enough, because although the title reads EXEMPT I believe the 6 digit odometer to be true based on the condition of the car. Originally from CA, she spent a brief time in MO and now here in FL. We have enjoyed many trips and adventures since we brought her home from a local in 2017. Based in JAXFLA (Duuuvvaaaalll), we have taken her as far north as PA, west to NOLA, and south to Funky Buddha. Foxy has been a fine companion and although reluctant to see her go, it’s time for a new chapter in her life and ours as we make room to build a new ’84 FJ60 from the ground up!
Upon purchase in 2017, we upgraded to 1234 AC, new tires, new aluminum radiator, water pump, belts, new battery, rebuilt alternator, replaced intake hose, Bluetooth hands-free phone, rubber mats front and rear, and I installed a new weber carburetor purchased from Cruiser Corps. I kept the original Toyota carb and it travels with the buyer. Otherwise, she is stock. She takes a few pumps prior to a cold start, there is a slight tear in the usual ‘slide in’ spot on the driver side, the plastic front seatbelt sheaths are brittle, there is a small crack in the dash, and the plastic covers for the wipers are missing. Small stuff, normal for her age. The body is solid, with recent paint, the undercarriage is very clean, factory mud flaps are intact, all badges present and accounted for. This is a difficult car to sell, not just because the values keep increasing, but she’s just so dang fun! I have maintained and enjoyed this fine example of the 60 series to the fullest, we hate to see her leave the stable, but it must be. We hope she finds a home that loves her as much as we do.
