Seller’s Description: This Eagle is finished in Garnet Metallic paint with Garnet houndstooth cloth and vinyl interior. Mechanically, the car is completely stock, and the mileage is actual; the odometer has not rolled over. The Eagle was a garage-stored show car from July 2009 until I purchased it with 80,000 miles in October of 2018. I daily drove it for 2 years until it went back in the garage.

The interior is exceptional and shows only minor signs of use. The air conditioning works, as does the stereo. The previous owner replaced the headliner, installed new carpet, sound insulation (which is visible in the spare tire compartment in the hatch), and POR-15 preventative rust coating, and replaced the stock speakers.

Outside, the Eagle is fitted with dealer-installed Marchal fog lamps and an AMC-branded “Sports Deck” roof rack. The previous owner installed air shocks in the rear, and I made a custom hitch, which was used to carry a small motorcycle, never for towing. The hitch can be easily removed as it is mounted using existing holes—no drilling was done. There is no rust anywhere on the car, and I have included photos of the typical rust areas on these cars.

The front passenger door was scratched during loading for transport when I purchased the car, and the seller arranged for repair/repaint. I received the car after the work was done. I have included pics of the door, both in direct sunlight and in shadow.

There is a small exhaust leak at the catalytic converter, and I have included a photo of the area as well.

Mechanically, the car is sound and all-original. The previous owner replaced the timing chain at 55,000 miles and front and rear wheel bearings. Work done since I bought the Eagle includes an electric in-line fuel pump, a new fuel tank and sending unit, replaced front coil spring idolaters, replaced all upper and lower ball joints and both CV axles, and a front/rear differential inspection (all suspension work done in July of 2020). The vacuum-operated AWD system works perfectly. The 258 6 cylinders and 3 speed A998 transmission are in perfect working order. The car is exceptionally quiet inside due to the sound insulation under the carpet, and there is plenty of life left on the Mastercraft white line tires.

The tags are not current due to COVID closures at the DMV, but I occasionally drive the Eagle on weekends and miles may slightly increase. I have two folders full of service records, two original build sheets, and the original owner’s manual.

More photos and video of the car running are available upon request.
