Seller’s Description: 1991 Pontiac Trans Am 1LE WS6 R7U Players Challenge Car. This is an original R7U Players Challenge 1LE car. 1 of 23 Players Trans Am’s ordered and delivered to the Canadian market in 1991. 13th car built of 108 1LE cars split between the SCCA, IMSA, and Players race series in 1991. 56,100 kilometers/34,878 miles. Car is original and I see no indication or have found any documentation that the car has been disassembled for a roll cage and race modifications (maybe the only R7U not gutted for a cage). Imported to the US in 2007 where I have driven it roughly 300 miles a summer. A truly great rare car and a blast to drive, but it’s time to pass it on to a serious collector or dedicated hobbyist as I just don’t have the time for proper upkeep (I have three resto projects going). The car is not perfect (99.998% original and almost 30 years old!), but it is in very, very good shape and a perfect opportunity for those looking for a rare unmolested collectible. Documentation from PHS and VVS Canada comes with the car.
The Good:
Very rare documented R7U/1LE
No rust/very clean original car (no race repair)
The Bad:
Some slight barn/road rash (see pics….it’s an almost 30-year-old original!)
Some replacement parts (clutch master, headlight motor, fuel injectors)
The Ugly:
None! This is great, rare care and a wonderful investment opportunity that is a blast to drive!
The car is located in the Madison, WI area. All shipping and fees by buyer. Car sold as is, where is. Title transferred upon clearance of funds.
