The Cadillac Allante was the 1992 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car, manufactured from 1987 to 1993. The Cadillac Allante was the most expensive American automobile manufactured. There were only three options: digital dash, chrome wheels and removable hardtop. This one has a custom hardtop since no teals were manufactured with a removable hardtop. Manufactured on the longest assembly line in the world from Hamtramack, Detroit to Turin, Italy traveling by specially designed 747 back and forth for a total of 9,000 miles. Italian artisans handcrafted its coachwork at the studios of Pininfarina, a designer for Ferrari and Rolls Royce. In seven years only a total of 21,430 Allante were manufactured and sold. The 1993 Allante was the first Cadillac to have a 4.6L V8 Northstar Engine from General Motors. It was also the first Cadillac to have an all computerized Drivers Information System with diagnostics.
See attached original MSRP, the dealer used it as a demo for 7,000 miles and the use-car sticker from the dealer to the owner I purchased it from, who only drove it 2,000 miles, I have had it since 9,000 miles for the last ten years. Hard for me at my age to get in and out since back surgery. I have attached the listing of all Allante manufactured and how many of each color and with and without hardtops.
